Non league fixture congestion
« on April 05, 2013, 08:51:17 pm by StocktonRover »
I know this should probably be in the OT section, so feel free to move it if needed.

Living up North I keep an interest in Darlingtons fortunes - theyre doing very well this year in a considerably lower league and currently have 103 points from 39 games.

Despite this they are still not certain of winning the league as Spennymoor Town have 77 points from 30 games - if they win their games in hand, they could put themselves on 104 points.

Here lies the problem, Spennymoor have had a very successful season and they have reached the FA Vase final so have to cram in their remaining 19 games (including cup games) in 4 weeks.

To add to this pressure, they are entitled to a full 7 days without a fixture before the FA Vase final which would result in something like 18 games in about 21 days.
