That is the final game of the season.
To close to call.

From 22 games:

Brentford have won 14 (62%) drawn 6 (27%) and lost 2 (9%).

Rovers have won 14 (62%) drawn 4 (18%) and lost 4 (18%)

Brentford score an average of 1.7 goals per game and concede 0.9 goals per game.

Rovers score an average of 1.6 goals per game and concede 0.9 goals per game.

Therefore the most likely outcome will be a 1-1 draw, or possibly a very close 2-1 win. As you say; too close to call.

IMHO, if you still need a point (or three) to secure automatic promotion going into the final game at Brentford, then you'd better hope that before then, Sheff U and/or Hartlepool do you a favour by ending our own hopes of automatic promotion.

Because if Saturday 27th turns out to be "Winner Takes All", I doubt that normal footballing considerations will decide, it will be the team which holds its nerve best.

And if our home win over Pompey is anything to go by (two goals in last 5 mins, after being 2-1 down and outplayed/outmuscled prior etc), Brentford won't crack, that's for sure!

Same from us, pal.  Have you noticed how many games we've won in the last 5 minutes/injury time?

Should be a cracker of a match!

I have now [bold] - Bloody Hell!

And there's something else you should consider. It's not beyond the realms of possibllity that if we beat you by the odd goal, that could see the two teams finish exactly level on points, goal difference and even goals scored. And a 2-1 win for us would mean we were exactly level on "head-to-head", which would mean a Play-Off* at a neutral ground to divide us.

Villa Park, anyone?

* - Personally I think it should be alphabetical order, mind

Now that's a cracking thing to think about! Hope it happens tbh. The razzmatazz would be unbelievable. Can you imagine the goons on Sky? There'd be orgasms all over the studio.

Bring it on! I don't think it's ever happened before and surely it would never happen again?!

Cheers
