He's not driven by massive wages though. If he was he would have joined Burnley instead of us.

After how Adkins treated him at southampton do you think he'll want to play for him again?

"Come to southampton with me billy" scores 10 get them to the prem, "f**k off now billy"

Yes I do. Sure it wasn't personal.

There are not many better strikers in the Championship than Billy yet once promoted there are many better available in the premier league.

Be interesting to see where he ends up. Can't see it being Forest as Davies hardly used him since taking charge. Hope its not Leeds.

Why not Rovers? He enjoyed his time at the KM.

It would be great to get Billy back but I don't see it happening, I think he will want to be at a team that will be at least expected to challenge for play-offs.

KieronDRFC

"We could afford him once why not now? He turned out to be a good investment last time"

He didn't really though did he? He blew our wage structure out of the water so the likes of Stock, Copps, JO'C et al could command huge wages (by our standards) too.

His signing also scuppered potential deals for Shackell and One More (JR's words not mine) - reading between the lines JET - on a season-long loan (my words not JR's LOL.)

Which meant we went with Wayne Thomas and Co at the back and a midfield lacking JET! OOOPPPSSS!!!

Billy was a demi-god here and well worshipped, and he obviously feels affinity with DRFC but his signing had a far greater detrimental longer term impact on our club than we are led to believe or expected it to.

That said - if we could get him back at an affordable price and get goals out of him again - I'd love it!

I think Billy will come back up North due to location but I think when he finds a new club it will be a team with greater expectations than us.

He WILL come back and play for us sometime in the future .........we have an emotional bond due to past events that I'm sure will never be broken.
He is an adopted son of our town now, one of our heroes.  :)

Billy might have a new perspective himself after his big money move  to Soton didn't work out. He now knows that making a big doesn't guarantee personal happiness. He probably regretted leaving Rovers. I think we might get him at a cut price, especially if he has no desire to remain at Soton. I think they would rather get him off their books, than keeping him on the bench or reserves and still paying his wages.

I'm afraid that there might be white in his shirt colour but no red!

I think he would play for Leeds, McDermott is a good manager and if he can build a squad together there I think they could push for play-offs next year so I think he would play there if they go in for him.

He's on nowhere near 25k a week. You are a million miles away.
when sharpe signed for southampton it was reported he signed for 25k per week and a pay rise too 37k if they got promoted and whem he left said they where going to pay him crazy money for signing and remmenmber they signed lambert for  1 million in the 3rd division

The Blades can be discounted as one place where Sharp may return. This makes our case both stronger and more plausible.

I might be wrong but those figures are what Leicester were reportedly offering him. He rejected it and went Saints for less.
