It's Looking Good!
« on January 01, 2013, 07:36:01 pm by tommy toes »
Never mind the result today. We completely outplayed the self styled best team in the league today, theyt got lucky and nicked a point.
Fact is we're far better than them, they were poor.
I cant see Tranmere lasting the pace. MK Dons are getting inconsistent.
And as the weeks go by WE are looking better and stronger game on game. Rovers are one hell of a powerful team in this  league.
A couple of decent additions to the squad and I  honestly can only see us winning this league.

And I'm generally a pessimist  :)

I reckon, and I said this in September, that we're a midfield general and one more striker a bit different to what we've got away from a title winning side. We're almost there - January will be massive for us.

Yep, got to agree with this. I haven't seen a side in this league that could compete with the performance we put in today, without a sizeable slice of luck. We had a couple of months worth of bad luck squeezed into one game today, so if we keep our positive performances going we're going to have a very strong second half of the season. We can't have bad luck like that every game. We've proven we're a force in this league today, made supposedly the strongest team in the league look very average.

Let's just hope this season goes better than last time the Deedars stole an undeserved 2-2 draw against us!

That wasn't the Blunts strongest team out there by a long way but they would have still struggled at full strength.
I understand that they played their Youth team today listening to all the comments on Deedar tonight ;)

Be interesting to see what the average wage of that "youth team" is compared to ours. They've just signed a player from the Prem FFS. We had key players missing too.

Let them puff their chests out and treat a very, VERY lucky point as a win (again). Their reaction to scraping a fortunate draw says it all really.

As Sheff Utd and Tranmere have next weekend off, a 5-0 win at home to Colchester would see us top of the pile.

It does indeed, can anyone remind me how many games it's been since our big neighbours grabbed 3 points off us................is it 7 now ?

Some tricky games to come this month but if we remain in close contact with promotion places February and March look like they may be profitable.

Totally agree. They got lucky today and they know it however we clearly have the better team and will finish above them comfortably.

there fans can give it all big but if they were there we all know the truth we were the better side as much as they will try to hide that fact. so as you said i think we'll deffo be in top 2

As a christmas present someone gave me a betting slip. He put a fiver on for 7 clubs to win their respective leagues:
Man Utd
Cardiff
Rovers
Barcelona
Bayern Munich
Juventus
Porto

Rovers were possibly the weakest link but i think i'm on for the money!

Had a go on the BBC league 1 predictor thingy, although obviously biased ( but tried hard not to be ), DRFC finish as champions with 90 points, Coventry runners up 87, playoffs Brentford 86, Bournemouth 85, Sheffileld U 84, MK 84. Here's hoping!!.

As I drove up on Saturday the bookie on Talksport was saying that he was looking at Bournemouthto  beat Brentford and that they would win the league by 5 clear points, and he was a Brentford supporter!

As D comes before T then we would go top by winning 4 -0 COYR

I'd love to know the odds on that betting slip. 3 games to go in the Portuguese Liga!

That's why we couldn't get into the Priory Rob,

Scooter must have block booked it, prior to drinking all close season thanks to his winnings!!

The odds must have been a hell of a lot worse than I thought then. Was expecting him to pick up 5 figures on that one.

I agree, for all those to come through, I was expecting at least a four figure value!
