Appletons Previous Clubs
« on May 20, 2013, 10:23:44 am by jamesrover17 »
Alot of people in the media making jibes at Appletons last 12-18 months

Pompie- good job under bad circumstances
Blackpool- reported that promises over money and such were broken
Blackburn- Joke of a club from a backroom perspective

I for one, if it is him cant wait to see what he can do cant really accuse him of jumping ship

He coached the youth teams at WBA and worked alongside Roy Hodgson. He's also a young manager, still only 37 and managed at Premiership level. His spell at Portsmouth was during their administration phase, his spell at Blackpool was dogged by false promises and the less said about the goings on at Blackburn the better.

Could flourish with a bit of stability at boardroom level. Let's hope some of those expecting us to hire a Mourinho give him a bit of time.

A bad start for any manager and the knives will be out. I hope it's a long term appointment.

That's alright but he was also the bloke that chose to go to the joke of a club that is Blackburn - he did have a choice in the matter but he thought it was a good move!

Whoever the board pick has my support, but i'm not particularly inspired by the names mentioned.

Agreed, no 10 out of 10 there for decision making...

I understand we must give him our support and a chance and there maybe reason to some of his previously clubs poor management record, but hardly a proven track record which JR has wanted,is it?

Appleton is well regarded within the game, he grew up under SAF an worked with Hodgson. He's young but has experienced a hell of a lot during his managerial career. He will have learnt some valuable lessons (including from the 2 recent spells) and has the potential to be a good appointment.
