Season review comentary stats
« on June 23, 2013, 03:19:55 am by dodge »
Just watched my love/hate dvd again and made a few notes on the commentary situation and was shocked on the count up, here goes,
Home games
9 with commentary
14 without

Away
13 with commentary
10 without

The only commentary from Glen Wilson I can remember was the Brentford game but i'm positive he did allot more and he is the best commentator we have but seems to be ignored.

I noticed the Home footage was often as bad or worse than the away footage but was told it was the away footage that was an issue

Other minor mistakes. at the end of September the table had us down for 9 games but we had only played 8, from memory the Oldham game was called off as they had 3 players on international duty but was counted anyway. The other was at the end of November the table had us down for a GD of 30 but it was infact 13. Sloppy but negligible.

Is there anyone that can take this issue to the club and say.......... Are u taking the f**king piss?

Thanks for the kind words, but I wouldn't say I have been 'ignored'.

I've only ever done 7 matches on commentary; Stevenage (as summariser to Paul Mayfield), then Crawley, Bournemouth, Coventry, Crewe, and Brentford (all away), plus Tranmere at home as lead commentator.

There'll certainly be no recording of Tranmere at home as the ISDN box was down and we did the commentary on a phone. As for the others I'm not aware of the additional line to record having been set-up for these games.

Its probably worth compiling the issues people have with the DVD on a constructive list for future DVDs; Darren "Dazza" does a hell of a job on the media side at Rovers so I'd hate him to be disheartened by the manner in which some criticisms have been made (not necessarily yours Dodge).

It is of course worth noting that the club did have the decency to acknowledge ahead of sale that the quality of some footage was not of the best and priced it accordingly.

So, start the list then...
1. Please make sure that commentary from all games is recorded next season.

I'll ask the question again. Why has it never been as issue with past season DVDs. The quality of footage and commentary and analysis which was always dubbed afterwards was brilliant.

Having watched it again today I can confirm that on the DVD at the end of September we had only played 8 games, which is correct.

I don't know MrFrost, I only turn up and commentate on the odd game. Given that no-one on the forum has been able to find an answer to your question, have you thought about emailing the club to ask? Might be more productive
