I would be more impressed if the consortium, would point out on this site why they think a particular post is so hurtful.

Bully boy tactics will never work. The VSC board's initial actions were correct when faced with this type of problem. At some point the facts have to be put on the table followed by strong leadership from the VSC Board.

Troubled waters lay ahead I am afraid.

I'd be a whole lot happier, with it being a proposed friendly takeover if they would just step out of the shadows and talk about it openly.

Reading Alickismyhero's post I would possibly expect another legal letter heading your way.

Hmmmmm..................not a good omen when potential new owners are threatening the club's fans with legal action before they've even taken over.

If this is the way they carry on I can see why it's caused friction in the board room. Personally I cannot see why any businessman from Belize or anywhere for that matter would see any football club as a good investment. As I'm sure JR, DW and TB will testify it can be a thankless task and a bottomless pit.

Time for the VSC to earn its spurs me thinks. It was set up to be the voice of the fans and the voice of reason in the corridors of power. Sadly it forgot that remit a few years ago and became a happy clapper organisation in the clubs pocket (IMHO) which was when I ended my membership.

That has changed since SM et al came onto the board and it now appears to be working with the club proactively. If this takeover goes through, which looks increasingly likely now, I would hope the VSC will not be sidelined by the new owners as that would be a step in the wrong direction, very dangerous and put the future of our club at risk...................again!!! :headbang:

All the more reason for you to rejoin the VSC then.

Indeed. We certainly are not a happy clapper organisation and the guys are working hard on this.  Just because you don't always see the negative bits put to the club doesn't mean it isn't there and sometimes they do disagree with what we say. I like that if I'm honest it's how things should be.

Also chaps just to be 100 percent safe and all can we try to avoid any names etc involved just so we're all covered etc. It would be appreciated to cover us all.

Hang on a minute! Hasn't a certain Irish person (no names obviously) recently denied all knowledge of having any interest whatsoever in DRFC.

so why was the thread pulled then ?

either it contained some potentially slanderous comments, in which case SC have taking a very noble step in protecting those against whom further steps might have been taken by advising that it be removed before things escalated to a level where things became actionable, or it contained something wholly non-slanderous which they simply didn't want to be aired in public, which is not quite such a magnanimous gesture - which is it ?
