Ok then I've knocked the Free Press recently and I'm going to knock them again.

Read the unnamed  DONCASTER Free Press report on todays game which is so obviously written by a Wednesdyite

http://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/rovers-ft-sheffield-wednesday-0-doncaster-rovers-1-1-6097325

And now read The Star report by  somebody called Paul Thompson

http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/doncaster/owls-rovers-ft-sheffield-wednesday-0-doncaster-rovers-1-1-6097296

spot the difference ........oh yes its only the first paragraph

Well there you go. They seem quite happy to stir up trouble with all this reporting about the takeover yet they can't even string together a match report by a home journalist. Shocking.

To be fair to the DFP Liam Hoden who covered the match on Twitter had to rush back to Doncaster for the Boxing at the dome.
I would imagine he will have a match report online sometime today.

Says it all really. Shocking reporting but not unexpected , I bet the journo was crying and trying to cover his face with his blue and white striped pyjamas when writing that editorial.

Yes there's no doubting that that report came from a Wendy perspective, if it had been in the Sheffield Star I could except it but there's a clue in the title .... DONCASTER free press!

The DFP has certainly gone down hill.

That's a shockingly wrong sided report for a supposedly Doncaster publication.

"Rovers clinched only their second Championship win of the season - "

Yep, true, but that's two more championship wins than his beloved Wednesday, rename the Doncaster Free Press to the Sheffield Free Press!

It is not unusual for several websites or newspapers to initially take their match report from the same source.

Let's wait until Monday and see what is on the DFP?

And anyway, the report can be as biased as it wants, it doesn't change the result!

Journalists can file their stories via email right after the final whistle as they write during the game. No excuse. Piss poor.

There is a saying that has been around for decades...

Don't believe everything you read in the press...

I agree, for a web based sports news service there could be a quicker report but I am afraid it is not unusual to have such a delay.

Daggers, its obviously just a link to the Sheffield Star, Wednesday match report - look at the comments on the bottom
http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/doncaster/match-report-sheffield-wednesday-0-doncaster-rovers-1-1-6098210

I would presume that whoever does the web editing for the papers, they are all part of the same group, hence the same stories, is a Wednesday fan and doing it just to wind you up.

I appreciate they are the same group and stories are very often shared, but its not good enough, if someones having a laugh they want pulling. Do I take it neither Liam H or Paul G went to the game? judging by a post earlier one of them was doing the twitter reports from Hillsboro so there is no excuse for not having a Donny based report for the Donny Free Press

I don't know Daggers, eastender has said above Liam was at the game and then went to cover the boxing. All I can tell you is that all three online 'publications', DFP, Doncaster Star and Sheffeild Star have links to exactly the same story, they aren't sharing it, they all link to a single page as you see from the comments below it. You could email the editor to ask why.

Still.... two days after the game and not having a Rovers-penned match report in the only Doncaster paper is very poo-er.

The story by Liam certainly wasn't online at 08:51
