Anyone been?
Is it suitable for five/six year olds?
And why is it in Leicester?

I've been a couple of times and it seems fine for youngsters, outside though is the toilet museum and the kids I took loved it, it was actually very interesting and the entry was free.  I think the kids loved it more than the space museum

I cant answer the first two moses but Leicester University has a big Space Research Dept and the museum is a partnership with them. It could be worse, the UK Space Agency is based in Swindon, and there is plenty of space there.....

You ever been to Leicester? It looks like the surface of Mercury.

I spent a year there doing my MA, fascinating place to live especially when Diwala is on - which seemed to go on for about three months and use up half the UK's stock of fireworks.

Just tongue in cheek Wilts.

I had three years at Loughborough, which makes Mexborough look like a happening metropolis. We used to go to Leicester for nights out. My abiding memory is having to have eyes in the back of your head to avoid pint pots and stabbings.

No problem Billy, it was taken as such. I was there as a mature student and my aibiding memory is playing five-a-side football with my landlord and a load of his builder mates (I used to help him out on the odd weekend so I think I qualified), kicking one another and anyone we happened to play against up in the air, then down the local for a few and then off into town to 'look for a fight', at which point I skipped out. Perhaps it was them with the pint pots, did they miss you, they never could throw properly?

I remember all that but haven't got a clue what I studied!

I've been to the Space Museum, but it is some years ago.  Its well worth a visit.  Lots of very interesting pieces.  They used to have a Titan rocket there (yes, a real one) but I think it has gone now.  They had a Soyuz orbiter and the lunar rover.

The piece that stuck in my mind was a small window pane off a space shuttle.  It was about 6" square and about the same thickness and it had a crack in it about half way through.  The note underneath said it had been struck by a piece of space debris about the size of a grain of sand.

Thanks guys. Think I might tease the lad that we are going to the toilet museum for a bit before we go in the space museum. Well I will think it is funny...
