Shame  imo he should be on the bench for every game. I can only think that PD doesn't fancy him  (not literally of course) :(

Gives us something going forward into the box too which the other attacking midfielders seem reluctant to do.

His situation reminds me of that of Greeny under SOD's régime. The forgotten man for the first stages then BANG . I really rate Syers and do hope he gets his chance in the first team on his return.

He will stand out in that league! It's a shame he's been loaned out would quite like to see him have more of a chance he impressed last season and as said above he's got an eye for a goal which we are lacking from midfield.

Surely a League One club would have come in for him?

Thought he was great when fit, adds some height and arial threat to midfield too. Disappointed to see him leave.

Let's not over-react - why does everything have to be assumed to be the worst? Wasn't this the player that Dickov was ADAMANT/unequivocal was just to get games during his midweek interview? The same interview where he said Syers was still very much part of his plans. I really don't think everyone should see this as a definite departure. I think this is a drive for match fitness, knowing that suspensions and injuries are likely to be just around the corner.

Also, whatever you think about Syers, as a midfielder he's up against Cotterill, Copps, Duffy, Furman, Wellens, and Forrester & De Val when they get fit. Not sure I'd put him ahead of a lot of those people, if any.

Competition is extremely fierce, Syers will get his chance and at the moment this a good move for him to keep his fitness up.

The problem for Syers is I don't see where he would fit in to Dickov's plans. Apart from the first game of the season we've not played a system that Syers would fit in to. He's got a good engine on him and is perfect for that role just off the striker.

At home Dickov likes the extra striker on the pitch and away he seems to favour the extra holding/defensive/ball winner in the midfield. Unfortunately for Syers he's a player in between both of these roles. Would love to see him get a chance though.

And I even missed Keegan out of my list. (I also missed out Harper, but I did that on purpose).
