Duffy nominated for POM

I have to say I think he's been a bit hit and miss, but he did have an excellent game v Charlton. Wellens, Coppinger and Meite might feel unlucky not to have been nominated.

Well done to him, it's a good replication on the club. How do they choose the short list? Draw the names out of a hat?

Le Fondre for my money. 2 hat tricks in his last 2 games.
Duffy does have a weakness or two. Doesn't like shooting (got into 2 or 3 really good positions on Saturday in the first half) and he likes to beat the same man at least twice. I also thought he wasn't in the game second half on Saturday

Without wanting to knock the lad he does hold on to the ball a little too long at times, perhaps a hangover from being the big fish at Scunthorpe. It was evident he didn't shoot once or twice when earlier in the season he might have done.
As well as he's done he wouldn't be in my top 3 of the month at Rovers.

Brilliant that. He gets nominated for POM and everyone is talking about his weaknesses. Congratulations to the lad. I think Alfie will win it. But it's nice for a Rovers player to get some recognition for his performances.

Agreed well done to the lad. I've spent the last few months unable to go to games and everyone on player waxes lyrical about him especially the oppo commentaries. RTID

Funnily enough, I think this is probably his worst month with us when he's been nominate for this - and even then he hasn't been bad by any stretch of the imagination. Perhaps not up to the standards we've come to expect of him, but not bad at all.

I don't think anyone is knocking him, he's been a good buy. As stated, I'm not sure how he's got this nomination, but good luck to him.

He got MOTM on Saturday and I don't think anyone agreed with it (apart from the sponsors) certainly the west standers where I sit were a little bemused as he'd been a bit anonymous in the 2nd half. But he's definitely been one of our better players most of the season

As expected, Le Fondre won the player and Pearson at Leicester won the manager.

That's not the end of the world. This should motivate him to play better and he will win this award.
