Bury v Rochdale

Lots of endeavour with little skill, got me thinking back to the game when we beat them 3-1 & another great finish from Gregg Blundell, one of the goals of the season for me.

Quite impressed with Rochdale when we beat them in the capital cup game second game of the season . Dipped my bread in and had a fiver on at 20s for them to win the league and a fiver on at 9/2 for a top 6 finish. Cmon you dale.

I'm a Rovers season ticket holder, but born and brought up in Bury as a Shakers fan.  Great atmosphere at Gigg Lane, which took me back to many great games I have seen there in my youth.

Despite there being no goals tonight, it was a great tussle between two local rivals and two old pals, Flitcroft and Hill which added to the enjoyment.

Josh Lillis was excellent in goal for Rochdale and kept them in it several times.  Definitely one to watch for the future.

I have to disagree with tne general opinion on the sending off.  Clearly a deliberate handball and also a deliberate foul for the second yellow card.  Added to that, Henderson clearly dived for the earlier penalty claim, so on balance he deserved to go.

Enjoyed the game tonight, but the main business is tomorrow at the Keepmoat, where my current loyalties lie!!

Agree bedale.  The Swan & Cemetery does a nice pint of Thwaites bitter or mild.  Tne Pack Horse at the bottom of Gigg Lane is also a favourite and was well attended by rovers fans this time last year.

The Cemetery in Rochdale is a real ale pub and does a nice pint of Timothy Taylor's landlord bitter - very strong and you certainly know when you've had a pint!!

I found the above sequence buryied in my files.

Joyous times. Can anyone name the Bristol Rovers player who took Greeny's legs?

Also, note the Bristol Rovers fans reaction to McIndoe's superb goal.

It's a WMV file that opens with Windows media player. Not sure if you can open it in any other format.

It's to do with football vicar.

I'm all for arguing your side, but the Done have nothing to do with football.

No. Everything really WAS blurry back then.

At least it was for me most Saturdays, the amount of ale I supped as we cruised through the league. Culminating in the Boston match when we clinched the title. By kick off time, my breath would have sent a Saturn V to the moon. By the time I rolled out of the Tut at midnight, my liver was at about a quarter of its pre-season capability.

Vicar, this isn't a Sporting Club Doncaster forum.

This is however a forum with an Off Topic section which you can run wild in.
