Friday kick off time
« on April 14, 2014, 07:41:06 pm by Filo »
I think it's worth reminding folk that the kick off time on Friday is 7.30pm and not 7.45pm

Maybe it should be made a sticky just for this week? otherwise it'll likely slip off the first page.

An acquaintance of mine was going to this match, his first and only one of the season, but now cannot make it. He was going to travel from Dudley in the Midlands but now cannot make it. He was going to bring all his friends to swell the gate. He was also going to have a bath before the match. Now his plans are in tatters because of the greed of SKY wanting to show this encounter on the box, and he will have to watch it on an illegal internet stream.

When it was originally changed from. 3pm to 7.30pm I was fuming as I'd agtreed to work Friday night in return for Friday afternoon off, after much negotiation I have managed to secure Friday off and will be at the KM after all :)

Playing late on Friday might have it's advantages, as we'll know what everybody else has done results wise, which will be useful to work out how safe we are.

Unfortunately we wont know everyone's results as Barnsley , Millwall and Birmingham all play on Saturday.

Hopefully we can put the pressure on them tho.

I wouldn't be surprised if Derby sell out their allocation.  They have a big following and are very much in the play off frame, not too far away and on a bank holiday.

Great sales from us so far, especially as the £35 Derby/Reading combo offer has just come out, I reckon a few more of us will take that offer too.

I've used voucher M for this game too bringing along 5 others that wouldn't be there normally

I purposely waited until this point in the season where we needed extra support to get us over the line. Five extra there is not a lot I know, but I felt it was important to use these tickets for when we needed the support, not like others who couldn't wait to offload to make a quick buck. All my tickets have been distributed as intended, free of charge.

Is that what everybody else who used Voucher M earlier on in the season did?

No, I can't. Because you didn't. But "others" is quite a vague description. Please accept my apologies for paraphrasing an ambiguous statement.

Can you now point me to the evidence that "others" (whatever that means - could be two people, could be 4,000) used their vouchers because they "couldn't wait to offload to make a quick buck." I was of the impression that people could use their vouchers whenever they wanted.

You are correct, they can use them whenevever they want, however they are complimentary tickets and should not be sold on, that was the gist of my comment as you well know, but you've decided to pick yet another argument with one of my comments. Evidence? Take a look at the facebook group, there's plenty of evidence there, but I suspect you already know that. Thanks for providing your non evidence to support your post by the way, much appreciated ;)

You must be confusing me with somebody else, Filo. I'm not an active part of the Rovers Facebook community, and I rarely use the site at all, so no, I wasn't aware.

Thank you for providing some tangible evidence, Filo. You'll notice I never disagreed with you, just asked you for evidence that this was happening. To this end, there was no reason for me to provide evidence with my post, because I was not looking to counteract your statement, but instead search for some tangible proof in favour of it. I very much agree with you that the selling of complimentary tickets is morally reprehensible, but I could not accept your proclamations of your own selflessness and outstanding moral convictions without being certain that this kind of behaviour was taking place.

I will take your word for it that there exists ample evidence in the Facebook group to prove that this is going on, for, as I already alluded to, I am not a member of this community. I do not fancy changing that and having my Facebook news feed filled up with yet more nonsense (but in this instance, from people I don't know!) by joining the group, so I shall assume your research as sound.

To draw a line under the voucher M/complimentary ticket side discussion going on here, I do recall that earlier in the season there was at least one thread where "selling" of such tickets was debated.

We could well top 10000 for this fixture, should be a great atmosphere regardless of any stayaway fans watching on Sky.

It's a pity that some supporters have chosen to offload their complimentary tickets in this way as it will quite clearly kill off the voucher M scheme.

That's what concerns me, the genuine people will suffer, because people choose to abuse it

I waited in the queue at the TO a few weeks back with a mate who was buying a ticket and one old guy was stood outside the TO offering his free tickets for a fiver each.

At least he wasn't doing it in August.  :ermm:
