Brazil Chile

Has there ever been a more sumptuous, delicious attacking force than this Brazil side? The speed and movement of most of their attacking players is a joy to watch.

If they just had Chris Brown up front in place of Fred, you could give them the cup now...

Still think they'll come a cropper though. Maybe today. The defence is gash.

Fred is awful, Hulk isn't great either. Quality game this though, flat out tempo.

England are light years away from this. Joy to watch, sad to think you're own nation is so poor.

Typical overhyping of Brazil, they have no chance of winning the World Cup. They are defending like school boys, they can't beat a team with a Cardiff and a forest player in it.
When (if) they come up against a properly good side with a solid defence, let's see how good their 'sumptuous, delicious' football is.

Holland,Germany,Belgium, France, Argentina, and Italy would stroll past them.

But Brazilian teams are generally poor defensively but they make up for it with their other players. I take your point that Chile have a great chance of taking this game, as do disciplined teams still in

Great game to watch, could go either way. Amazing that Chiles defence a released Forest player, just goes goes to show what organisation & the right coaching can bring. Imagine if England had a Forest reject playing, there would hell on. Love watching Brazil going forward with pace & skill, susceptible at the back like, then again they always have been.

But this team aren't making up for their defensive frailties.
Would love chile to nick it

'Brazils passing accuracy the lowest of any brazil team since 1966'

Not sure how they worked that out, but it adds weight to the argument that this brazil team have been overhyped and would get arseholed by holland or Germany.

England players are on a hiding to nothing because of the horrible English press, who along with many of its gullible readers will the team to fail. It's an english desease that is also rife at club level, and south yorkshire is a hot spot for it.

South Yorkshire is a hot spot for football in general. But I agree with your point, can you imagine the chile press? I can imagine it being full of praise and encouragement, instead of negativity.

Cracking game and can't believe that at the end chile hitting the bar, hope they do it on penalties.

No. England players are on a hiding to nothing because they are spectacularly average, but are hyped as world beaters by a Premier League that has a vested interest in over-selling them.

You can imagine it'll all kick off if the Brazilians lose this...

Thank God Fred's bit taking a penalty. The pace he plays at, it'd take him till midnight to get from the centre circle to the penalty area.

I bet Howard Webb will need all his experience of tasty nights in Mexborough to survive if they lose.

I'll say it again - the cream always rises to the top. People will say this is an average Brazil side and that Chile were hard done by but the good teams always win these things.

They haven't won anything yet.
There are quite a few better teams than Brazil in this world cup

Brazil beat the hardest side in the tournament to play against. Don't underestimate that victory. This Brazil side aren't the best bunch they've had but they are hard working and have some class players.

In watching world cups I have seen Brazil win twice, in 1994 and 2002.  But the best Brazil team I saw was in 1982.

The best team doesn't always win.  I can see Brazil winning this time, but there are other serious contenders.

I think I'd like to see Uruguay do well without Suarez.

It's a small nation, they feel like they have been hard done by being denied their talismanic player.

I'd like to see their players show they aren't a one man side.

Funny - I was thinking of that 82 side earlier today. Such a coincidence that that side and this one both had/have a bone idle lumbering waste of space at centre forward.

That 82 side was a thing of beauty. Socrates, Eder, Falcao, Zico, Cerezo, Leandro, Junior. Glorious to watch.

Then they had Sergino up front. A man so unco-ordinated, he would have made a clone of the most ungainly bits of Leo and Clownshoes look like Darcy Bussell.
