That won't be the official press conference , just a LT interview surely.

Pre-recorded press conference? That's a bit odd. So it's now 5.08pm... Anyone actually know what was said, if any plans were laid out? Or was it just to announce some crowdfunding?

Here's what Liam Holden wrote:

Louis Tomlinson and John Ryan are now the proud owners of around 85 per cent of Doncaster Rovers after confirming their takeover.

The pair announced their takeover at a secret London location yesterday (yesterday?).

Main points

- Ryan and Tomlinson will be 50-50 partners and co-chairmen

- The shares of Dick Watson, Terry Bramall, David Blunt, Andrew Watson and Sarah Kell have been bought by the pair, giving them approximately 85 per cent of the club

- Loan owed to Watson and Bramall have been cleared

- Ryan says he believes only Sheffield United will have a higher wage budget in League One next season.

- Ryan confirmed no other parties are involved in the takeover at this stage

- There will be no changes to Doncaster RLFC which is owned by Doncaster Rovers. Ryan pledged to ‘support the club in any way he can.’

- The Tomlinson Ryan Trust is launched, a crowdfunding project designed to raise £2million from public donations to raise funds for Rovers

- Tomlinson wants to create a buzz around Rovers

- Ryan says Rovers can become a powerful brand with Tomlinson’s involvement

they need to start bringing players in and show everyone it's not "3 card trick" . Let's face it the Funding Crowd scheme is a strange addition to this.

The press conference was supposed to tell us the details of the takeover, it was in a secret location only revealed half hour before the conference began, why? It ended up telling us no details at all and turned out to be an advert for a trust set up to fleece the fanbase of a boyband, confirmed by the fact that all the rewards for donating to the trust are centred around LT and not around DRFC. It'll be interesting to note the reaction of the people who have been brainwashed by this scheme should all this fail and we tumble down the league through the money drying up completely. No one person is bigger than the club, but in our case it seems that there is one person bigger and his cult has many loyal followers!

Also, I would like to hear TB, DW, GB, the VSC and the new supporters group official take on this takeover, I think each one of those mentioned have a duty to tell the fans the story, so far we have total silence from them all!

It was not as much a take over more of a hand over . JR was the only Rovers director willing to put his money up provided he got a viable partner . It's smell the coffee time for Rovers fans . This season is either going to deliver what had been advertised by JR /LT or it's going to show the Tommy Cooper in all of this " the trick" . I take mine black no sugar . He was good tho'

With all due respect, I think it is naive to think that any of those worthies or organisations is going to be making statements on the takeover.

Terry and Dick may be bound by confidentiality clauses, and in any case they're hardly going to say that they think they've been sold a pup. Gavin remains a club employee and so will be expected to toe the party line- though I expect if he's allowed to carry on running things without too much interference from above he'll be happy enough.

The VSC and Supporters' Club excecutives probably know no more than the average Joe in the street. They could come out and support or oppose the deal in principle, but either position would be a hostage to fortune until we see what it means in practice. Given Len South's open support for JR over the Sequentia deal, he may be fed some scraps to help sell the deal to supporters. But that will be stuff that JR and LT want you to hear anyway.

It was in a secret location to stop 1000 screaming girls and paparazzi turning up. Fact.

Nah, if that was the only reason, they'd have publicised it and charged the girls for selfies with Louis... it is looking like some extra boost to the fund is needed after all.

It's a pity that the press conference wasn't used as an opportunity to clarify some of the issues and concerns that have dominated this forum since last Thursday.
