I thought Wakefield did very well tbh.I liked his movement and kept showing for the ball..To say he's a centre half...
This is how successful teams operate,it's not about one individual it's about the team,if somebody drops out due to injury, then the others believe they can come in and do a job.It sounds like all the squad feel involved, and if they play well have a reasonable chance of playing,it's a gradual thing confidence building, and trying to ease the younger players in at the right moment is an art.Having said all that there are certain players that if we lose them for a sustained period we will not be as effective, those players for me are Rob Jones and Harry Forrester, the rest you can patch up and get by without.Having a smaller squad does give the advantage of a better chance of a good spirit in the squad, because everybody is more involved, and there aren't as many bodies to clamber over to get a place in the starting line up.I do understand Dickov holding off using his surplus funds for loans, because round christmas time,is usually when you need to bulk the squad up a bit,due to more games in a short space of time.I'm quite happy Paul will know when the time is right to go in to either the loan or permanent market. If it was me i would be trawling the lower league's and trying to get a promising striker in permanent, low fee and wages, and start developing the player in this league,to add to the youth players we already have.
