Al Frost. He always worked in the furnace/ she'll mould area.

He mentioned Albert Frost but didn't think it could be him. I remember him.

Are you Trevor.

I have got an old photo of the football team from Peglers. I will see if I can find it out and some of them might be recognisable to a few of you.

Only at the football.  ;)
Trevor is Al's son, my nephew.
I'm Al's brother Dave, been exiled in Bradford for 30 odd years but remember him bumping into your dad at the Rovers a few times.

Sorry, I thought you said Al was your dad. My old man says he used to bump into him regularly when he was visiting Donny.

Hopefully I can get these pictures to work. Two football teams from Peglers. My old man is the one with the white hair. I am the little lad. Mascot at one game and playing in the other.

The second one is the match worn Rovers kit we got from the club from the late 70's

Yes recognised your dad straight away.
Our Al on the back row. I gave him my boots as I knackered my knee up in 1973. That looks a bit like Bri Perkins next to your dad but looks a bit too old and tall from how I remember him.
Al's son Trev is in the second picture as you know.
Happy days.

Well I mentioned this a few months ago and I finally sorted something out with the commercial dept today (it was my old mans 80th yesterday). I am bringing him to the Oldham game on August 30th.

We are going to have the pre-match three course meal. Because it is birthday, they have invited him on the pre-match tour of the ground and they are going to let him meet the man of the match on stage after the game and interview him. They offered me a birthday cake, signed card and balloon. I thought it was going to be included until the wanted to charge me £40! The meal has cost me enough already.

I have just doe a bit of a Q & A with him for the programme. His favourite players are Alick Jeffrey, Colin Booth and and John Wile.

Favourite game was the 3-2 county cup win against Rotherham in 1965 when Keith Ripley came off the bench to score a late hat trick.

His favourite manager is Lawrie McMenemy.

First game he can properly remember was the FA Cup replay against Aston Villa at Hillsborough in 1955 just after he had come out of doing his national service although he says he did games before he went in.

Was one of those players in the photo surname Holmes (I think it was Ian but might be wrong on that one!)

Aye.,  if we win you'll have to repeat the routine before every match. Have fun.
