Now that's how you Start at Home!!

Trying to win the game from the first whistle,we were relentless for almost the whole first half,if anybody doubted that the team are still playing for Dickov,no need to now that theory has been thrown straight out of the window.
I Thought everybody in the side had at least a good game,Wellens was outstanding for the first half, faded a little later on but that was to be expected with an interrupted pre season.

Coppinger had one of those games close to being untouchable,Bennett terrified their defence in to submission at times, they couldn't control wave after wave of pressure from us,and thought they were slightly fortunate to nick one before half time.
The midfield almost controlled the whole half,Dickov loosened the side up a bit took some chances leaving Keegan on the bench, and putting De Val in who is a much more forward thinking player.

Second half we started similar to the first,McCombe of all people pops up for a goal, when he scores your thinking it must be our day.
Then the tables turn back around and it's Chesterfield who have got more of a hold of the game,Doyle scores and it's disallowed, and all of a sudden we are very vulnerable.

The defence doesn't take the warning and Doyle get's one that stands, everything seems to be pointing them equalising, attack after attack, crucial blocks that you don't think are going to be made and somehow we have stumbled over the line for the final whistle for a much needed win after seven games without a Home win before today.
For me today Paul Dickov was spot on with the team he picked, the team came out like it should at home, the team had the attitude that no matter what they were going to win,if it had finished 3-3 i would still have said the same.
We still have weaknesses, but if you get a lead, then it's them that have to do the worrying, our team this year has worried too much at home.

Do what they did today and not many teams will be able to cope with us,plus when a few get fitter we will be able to sustain it for longer and tighten up a little more at the back.
Great Team performance  :scarf:
