...and a game at darlington in division 4 where ddr have Stepped forward
To divert issues approaching normal rovers fans .

I think I remember that game, Oslo.  Maybe 1990ish?  I seem to recall it was a bit foggy up in the north east and even though the Darlo game went ahead, the Newcastle match was postponed, so all these Mags came down and caused havok.  That little cobbled alleyway was a warzone after the game.

I also remember the DDR lads stepping in at Lincoln a year or two later when their lads were clouting any Rovers fan they could get to.

This game was in the mid 1980s i guess ,but it was foggy that day too

If you were getting a shoeing from some home fans then you wouldn't be complaining if some more accomplished lads stepped in to assist.

What's the difference between an 'accomplished lad' and a 'top boy'? Maybe Oslo can take this one.

dont quote me on this but from my book

accomplished lad will be someone who has been there all the time ,dont
have to ask him about if he will be out for NeXT game and not affraid to get
his hands dirty

top boys aka main faces , they  be the chaps that rest of the lads will listen
too whenever needs be .

if donacster was playing away one of many questions been asked would be
is so and so going and if the main faces were going more would turn up.

dont 4get ddr were  working on numbers of 30 tops on a good day for most games.

not like leeds, westham, chelsea, man utd etc etc who had 100s and 100s and 100s

maybe iam wrong ,if so please correct me

Never really understood the appeal of going to footy to a) get my head kicked in or b) kick someone else's head in! But would never moan about those that did! I recall once getting in a scuffle at chesterfield (a new years day game that was postponed early 90s so my gang of 4 mates decided to stay in cheggy for a few drinks instead of turning straight for home) in the crooked spire pub and found that as my mate took a beating I was wading in - found it scary to say the least but had to try and help my mate out! Can kinda understand the 'all stick together mentality - but luckily for me as 'a less than hard man' that was the only instance! Strange pastime for me - but one man's strangeness is another's exhileration!

You're thinking of the WDDR , not the DDR.
Either way, neither really exist.

Can I join too? I'm up for frightening women and kids and old people on a Saturday. I'm not that good at fighting, but having watched first hand football "violence" over the past twenty years at Rovers I don't think that will go against me.

You can mock all you like CraigyBoy,but godforbid you ever end up in a situation where you find yourself been out numbered & set up on by some lads from another club, who do you think will come & help you out? probably not the young lads we see dressed in their stone island gear in the weststand north, but I'm sure Oslo & the DDR lads of his generation would be the first to step in & help you out,it's called togetherness, looking after your own.
I was stood having a beer with some older DDR lads at Fulham, not there looking for trouble or pretending to be Mr big just there to have a few drinks with their mates, have a laugh, let off some steam & support their team the same as the rest of us.

' Its the  togetherness  'part Of that post Thats most important as ypu seem to be getting side tracked on ddrs antics

It seems tje only time When rovers fans on This board are pulling i. Same direction is after a jpt final win or a win at Wembley or after promotion is Won.

When defeat after defeat on the pitch is red out on final score at 16:45 every saturday shit hits thr fan on Here and knock on effects felt all week
