The speculation is Lucas Neill, who is a free agent and doesn't need the loan money to be wasted. If PD were to leave he (Neill) would make a useful replacement as player-manager.

Not sure what Lucas Neill would bring to the club, if it is actually him that comes in - he has not played much, if at all recently, therefore how fit is he going to be, certainly not match fit that's for sure. And lets face it, when he was here last season, he hardly ripped up any trees with his performances did he.

I understand #DRFC are expecting to announce a loan signing tomorrow morning. Paper work all in process of being completed

This suggests it's a loan deal and not a free agent , so that would rule out Neill.

Think that's overly harsh. On the whole his loan signings have been excellent so if he's picked a player to sign tomorrow then I'm confident it will make us a better team.

My money is on Butler. Ideal signing in many respects, and I reckon we would have got him permanently in summer if not for the takeover shenanigans.
