Plays his Favourite Formation

It leads to four points,4-4-2 nice and simple everybody knows their jobs, why didn't he go with what he believed from the start?
I Can kind of understand the reasoning,he was trying to protect what he knew was a back four with weaknesses, and a keeper though improving who still wasn't sure,so he put an extra body in midfield.
He should have got these signings done earlier, but anyway no weakness in goal,a commanding centre back, and even Wabara chipping in with a goal.
One of the main things i am happy about is coming from behind, that shows a little character is building.

For me with Sam Johnstone in goal and with those two at centre back,Wabara right back, the only thing we need at the back is a left back option,Enda Stevens would have been a steady alternative to Evina who has improved a little over the last two games.
That in my opinion is a Championship winning backline.
Midfield we have quite a few options,a better defensive midfielder for me is needed, but as it is Keegan is the best we have in the position.
I Have said it lots of times our best players are our wingers, that's why the form has been in and out.
But with Main also adding strength to the middle of the team, that's three vital cogs in to the Team machine.

Bradford are not the best side in this league, but they are useful against the better teams,Leeds being one of their victims in the cup.
For me James Hanson i am surprised he is still there,it must be a consistency thing, because every time i have seen him,he seems to be a nightmare to play against.
A few weeks ago he would have destroyed us,but Johnstone & Butler added to what we have has closed those gaps up a bit.
This league is a very poor league just like last time we were in it,it shows that Bristol city being top, they are not Champion material.
If the board identify the players they want and get it done, this side has enough quality if Dickov can get the best out of them, just with three additions to what we have.

Left back,Defensive Midfield,Striker,i do still think we need another striker, just an up and coming kid on loan just to push Tyson,Main and Robinson for their places.
Left back we have needed cover all season,Def. Midfield may be we can get away with that if the other positions are filled.
A Bit of progress, nice to see but it needs to be maintained,if any of us was the manager, the patience would be running very thin, this group  of players needs constant pressure to perform on it.
The player who disappoints me most is Harry Forrester, potentially the best of the lot,one of the finest players in this league and he is just not doing it.

SC

He DID go with this formation from the start of the season. Then Main got injured in the second match. So he's had to chop and change. Playing 4-4-2 with Tyson and Robinson simply doesn't work. You need a big physical presence as well.

Today, with Main looking closer to full fitness, we created chances. And with Butler and Johnston at the back, we looked solid.

I've been saying for months that Dickov has had terrible luck with injuries. Every time he has a run without them, he's got a team playing hi-tempo, attacking football. We did that today. If he has a bit of luck, he'll take this squad to the play-offs.

He has been unlucky Billy with injuries,no doubt about that,if Dickov was Captain on a ship you wouldn't go up the gang plank
I Do understand what he has been doing putting an extra body in midfield for protection, but it just didn't work for us,whichever combination he picks in midfield isn't producing what's needed.

In this league don't overcomplicate things, give the players a job and make sure they do it,personally i think Tyson/Robinson could work,if they are intelligent enough to rotate dropping off holding the ball, then looking for it behind the defence.
For all the talent we do have in midfield, the service up to them has been abysmal,Forrester for me if he worked a bit harder has got the ability to take Wellens position in behind the forwards and would do more damage.

Wellens isn't really a goal threat,Harry is if he's on form, though he is left footed i think him playing out wide is a waste, but he just isn't playing well enough to get that role.
Much better at the back Johnstone and Butler give the assurance back there, for the others to go and do their own jobs, instead of covering back.
A Lot better but it needs to be maintained,it looks as though a left back will be needed,we needed cover anyway, nice to see a bit of progress.
