Oldham Fa Cup Ticket Price

An absolute disgrace at charging Rovers £20 a ticket for a 2nd round game

Because it's a cup game even their ST holders will have to pay the extra. It's poor pricing that's for sure.

It's stupid, but isn't it the home side that basically set the prices.

If so so well done Oldham  I don't think

This was an ideal game to reduce prices, help the fans a bit who come regular, and try to snare a few back, plus the team get's better support in trying to get to the third round.

not just for us

Sorry Oldham I had a choice Crewe or Oldham I'm going to  Crewe, however had you set prices at a more realistic level taking into account it's a FA cup game, i.e. home and away supporters pay extra for it  I might have gone to both, and I'm sure many other home and away fans will make a similar decision

Should be limits, £20 for a league game £10 for a cup game.

Look at leeds the year we took 2/3000 at £10 for a kid and £15 an adult they will of made more money than taking 700 at £35 simple maths really.

I Just don't want to watch the third round draw, and Oldham get a great tie,we have to get through, no matter what, the money, prestige, possible TV Coverage and just basic pride, come on lads. :clapping:

Not sure the draw works like that, ie that either us or Oldham get the same team next round.  Assuming the tie is decided on time without a replay, then either team has a separate 3rd round draw number. I believe (I may be wrong) that the numbers are Prem and Championship 1-44 then 45-64 the 2nd round winners in alphabetical order.  So if we win, we'll be say 51, but if Oldham win they may be 57.  So if we lose and 57 gets drawn out at home to Arsenal that doesn't mean we would have got Arsenal had we won in the first place.  Different if we draw, we would share a number with Oldham.

It annoys me when folks think (not you, I am generalising) that "if we had beaten Oldham we would have had Arsenal", unless in the circumstances of a replay.

Good point IDM . On the ticket pricing front, why didn't they make it a compromising £15 then I'm sure they would have made the same money, made for a better atmosphere etc. It would also appear that they have the fans' interests at heart. Both sets that is and its not that far away ....wrap up though .

I think the next round is drawn according to the previous rounds match number for those progressing from round 2.

i might be wrong here but i think that oldham can only charge with what is aggreement with rovers because gate receipts are shared between each club and so much to the f,a.

Another lost opportunity to fill the ground.

But they don't fill the ground for league matches, they still don't lower the ticket price.  What's the difference?

£20 is to much but they,ve got a history of doing this.I went to a game there on Remembrance Sunday years ago and paid £22 for "the best seats in the ground" behind the goal ! I think Rovers won with a dodgy Lewis Guy penalty.

I went to the cup game a few seasons back at ice station zebra.  If I remember we were 0-2 down but fought back to 2-2...??

Never will understand doing this, I'd always rather have a thousand fans there at a tenner a pop than have 500 there at 20 quid, think about programmes, concourse sales etc they just don't seem to think about things like this

Agreed MD but I would imagine that half price tickets don't equate to double the number generally! Yes however a reduction in price would mean slightly more fans and more concourse revenue! I had a few discussions with shaun, gavin et al last season while on the mic and in theory it's a great idea but in reality rarely shows fruition!

There might not be an immediate financial gain but the potential for £10 a ticket fans coming back again after watching a good match is there and also the goodwill to the regulars is appreciated.
I'm sure we would have pushed for cheaper tickets if at home.

I was wrong.

The 3rd round draw numbers have been allocated http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30279875 so regardless of the result tomorrow or after a replay, the number for either team is 56...

So it really could be "look at who we could have got" if we lose and Oldham draw Arsenal!

I really didn't think it worked that way, but happy to be proved wrong!
