I will not be going next season if Dickov is still there. He's got no idea.  No plan A no motivation skills.
What a poor excuse, get real you clown

So you stuck with the club during the Richardson era, through near extinction in which were the most trying time as a supporter.... yet a manager who has us sat in 7th place in league 1, and before the last 4 days we had only 1 defeat in 13 games.

Admittedly Dickov isn't perfect but by no means is he doing a terrible job. A very inconsistent start to the season is the difference between our position now and being another 5-10 points better off.

He might not be your choice of manager but to want him gone when we are only outside the play offs on goal difference is baffling, did you also want SOD gone when we were in the transition period and results weren't going our way?

45 years 11 months and 8 days.York City at home, won 2/1 on a Friday night.Fell in love with the club and never looked back.
I'm a 54 year old grandad and I will tell you what.
I love DRFC now more than I did all those years ago. I totally understand frustration and bad results. I have seen so much heart ache caused to fans like me all over  the country. One thing I will NEVER do is say that's it. If my little club lost every flipping week, this daft idiot would be there supporting our team.
Last night was a blip but have seen worse things at sea.We will lose some, win some and leave me dejected, happy and ecstatic (when we beat those Dingles.).
Forget about last night and think about Saturday. I had 90 minutes to rant and rave on the way home last night.Did I rant at the Rovers? No way. they battled and were beaten by the better team and the officials.
NEVER NEVER NEVER underlined ten times give up on the players and staff who wear the read and white hoops. The team we would all love to score the winning goal for ..... Especially again Barnsley.
RTID and beyond God allowing.

The Richardson Era puts everything since into perspective. PD might not be an ideal or great manager, he will be judged on his results. If he falls short, he will be gone. In the meantime we have to support him and the team to get back to winning ways, criticism will not help matters, only make them worse.

48 on October 22... Have no idea what my first game was. I know that it was the 1973/74 season and I was 6. My Dad, Brian Button, and his mate, Don Cook, both Ridgewood regulars, took me. We stood on the old pop side and all I can remember is is was bloody frezzing, the language was ripe, I had my first Bovril, we won and it was the most exciting thing I'd ever seen. No other team had a look in since that day.

Deeply disapointed lad, and at 56 you are only a sprog, I am 58 and started the same promotion season, however we weren't allowed outside Mexborough until we were older without a responsible adult and we had to apply to get one of those.
Hull City away 98. Got in the car and just drove over on spec. No tickets or owt like that at Boothferry Park. At half time we were drawing 0.0, a right result. Second half I swear we were on drugs, 3 easy goals past us....
Last night diaspointing yes, but get a grip...not the disasters we have had in the past...
Barnet 2pm Tuesday, no floodlights, just think on eh?

62 years ive watched and supported rovers mother started me off Brentford awaylost I think by 1-0 cant be sure.seen some good times and bad times, probably the Richardson era the worst.the ryan era the best.always had faith but I must admit I am feeling the pressure now, health the reason I cant go at the moment Barnsley at home my last match.my issue is more with the board than dickov although I think dickov will be gone at the end of season, still cant understand why a football club should want to purchase a second rate rugby clubbut don't worry watto a lot of people thinking what you are saying.

Really Acko? I think the evidence of this thread rather proves your last point is complete and utter tosh. Of the 40 posts so far, yours is the very FIRST that thinks Watto has a point. Don't you read what everybody else posts? Read it again if you don't believe me.

I am 68 and my dad took me as a 1 year old  in the Clarrie Jordan era I don't remember anything. Living in Intake in those days I was able to go across the Racecourse and go to games on my own very early, so long as someone took me across the Gt North Road.  One of the games I remember seeing stood on the Rosso end Floodlight was when Jimmy Hill scored four for Fulham in the old second division. Try and get a kid of seven to a game on his own these days.

Unfortunately I now live across the pond and have cancer so it is extremely difficult and expensive to get over there to see games.  The first time I came across was the bad winter when everything got snowed off because SoD wanted the games postponed hoping for better weather. Cost me over 3 thousand quid did that.

The second time was the day after Sod was fired. I got to see two games and met up with Fuzzy and a few others off the JA 606 board. Same cost  better result, at least I saw games, my first at the Keepmoat.

This is why I said earlier that Watto was lucky to be able to get to games which the likes of us cannot.

I reckon people are getting older as the posts go on and they als went to Rovers younger than the last person.

I am 132 and my first game was against Intake, I would have been a three day old tad pole in my fatha's ball bag.

I don't know what you mean bob, we didn't have telly back then, just used to listen to the piano being played from the Prince of Wales. That was if the wind was blowing in the direction of our house like.

It was on at the flicks. Gaumont I think. 'Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Sex...." Bits of it were screamingly funny. And one of those bits starred  a sparklingly white dressed Woody (now alias you) as a sperm just prior to the action. It was bloody funny. The image of you being a 3 day old tadpole brought it all back.............

I am the ethereal spirit of Donny Togger. I've been here since the start of time.

And I'll tell you Kitsons summat. You don't know you're f**king born. Most of eternity has been blank and silent. A bit like the East Stand. The odd whining sound as a comet went past. A bit like the dull whines on here every time we lose (where DO they go to when we only lose one out of 11 games?)

Anyroad, you have two choices.

1) Enjoy this wonderful spell that we are having for half a generation now and contemplate that for much of the past 13.5 billion years, the Rovers have rarely been this good.

2) Moan like f**k when we lose, bitterly bite your lips when we win.

It'll all seem like  REALLY small stuff when you're sat in a pool of your own shit under a kitchen table with sandbags on it, screaming at your kids to shut the f**k up and listen for the next bang,  when NATO and Russia go toe-to-toe in Estonia and it goes nuclear.

Can something be done to block Watto from posting within the 48 hours following a defeat?

If i hadn't found out, i would have thought it was a young teenager the original poster, saying that was it if Dickov carries on he won't come to games any more, he has every right to say what he likes but don't you follow a team?
Many things in life you can change but usually your team never will, i do think a few on here would support Dickov if he took us to the conference, some don't want to rock the boat and have an opinion.

Personally i do think Paul has weaknesses but has improved while he has been with us, he still hasn't proven he can make the big decisions for me, he retained players that should have been gone.
His tactics are sometimes far too open and attacking, but he is an ex professional forward so it shouldn't surprise you, and anyway i would rather a manager try to do the right thing and get it wrong.
I want an attacking team i just think sometimes he has to adapt his tactics to who he is playing.

For me he is doing enough to at least finish the season and start the next, if we don't go up we have the spine of a good side to challenge next season.
But i look at the ability in the squad, and see what's above us and see very little difference in quality, i see no reason why we can't make it this season.
He has options throughout the squad, there is competition for places with young players waiting in the wings for their chance, i see optimism, just regret that we didn't start the first half of the season better.

This season we really could do with getting promoted it won't get any easier next season, the thing is there are other clubs wanting the same, we have no right to promotion the players have to earn it.
Our clubs supporters have been spoilt over these successful years we now expect, whereas before we hoped, that's why the fun has gone for many.

Do you know what, my love affair with The Rovers has been reawakened this season.

For the last seven years or so, family life, work life and lack of expendable money meant that I didn't go very often. I even missed the play off final against Leeds FFS.

Now that my boys absolutely love The Rovers and I can now organise my own working hours we have been able to go a lot more this season.
I see this current team/squad as a work in progress, it is showing signs that it could be a dominant force in this league, it just needs fine tuning and I don't think Dickov knows his best team or formation yet as the players are still so inconsistent.
I still don't want us to go up this season as I don't think we're ready as a squad. Dickov needs this summer to fine tune the squad, add where it needs adding and trim where certain players aren't performing or don't fit into the way of playing.

Watto, stick with it dude, is it really as bad as 1986 to 2000?

I agree with you Nudga. Apart from a few, who add great experience, we have a lot of young lads growing in the side and whatever happens this season, it will stand them in good stead for next season. If he has followed Rovers since the late 60's then the 70's were also a shocking decade as well as between 86-98.

In the last twelve years we have been spoiled compared to what went before it. My old man has been going since the early 50's and he still goes despite now living in Skeggy. In those 60+ years he has seen eight promotions, of which four have come since the turn of this century.

Sometimes, you need to step back and think before making any rash decisions.
