Unfit players, useless manager and disillusioned fans
« on August 22, 2015, 09:04:26 pm by rtid88 »
Think the thread title says it all but have we ever gone into a season with so many unfit players?? Fans so disillusioned after 4 games into the league season?? A manager so tactically unaware with so little ability to be able to motivate his players or know how to build the fitness of his players up in preseason! Even through the dark days of the McKay Experiment I have never felt so detached from the club as I do now! Something has to change now before this season is another waste of time and sees more supporters up and leave!!!

Tyson, Chaplow, Keegan, N'Guessan, Mackenzie, Wellens again looks unfit and from the reviews I here our players as a whole simply don't sound fit!! The only reason we are not receiving constant batterings is because of Stuckmann

Are you serious?
Probably the genius's most expensive signings to start with.

Tyson, Mackenzie, wellens, chaplow were all in the squad for the first game so not really got a clue what your both going on about.
We didn't start the season with these injuries

MacKenzie and Chaplow weren't exactly up to speed. Unfit doesn't = injured.

Chaplow started the game and in the reviews after he had a good game.
Anyhow his signings aren't the problem, we were all happy at the time with them, pointless now blaming him for the signings we all at the time thought were very good

Good signings if the players are fit, terrible signings if they are not! Either they were not given a proper fitness test or Dickov chose to sign unfit or injured players!

All players are unfit at the end of June.
I don't think any of them were injured.

The team that took on Leeds were fit enough alright. Performance levels were acceptable. Wind the clock on and the performance at Wigan from all accounts was also acceptable.

Against Southend, I saw players who's movement, or lack of it, suggested either they couldn't be arsed or, they feared taking responsibility and making a mistake.

Either of the latter tells me it's in their head and not their physical condition. Williams and Stuchman knew their jobs and performed manfully while the rest didn't.

I really feel sorry for these two as they've walked in to something that might seem strange to them. Whatever it is that's festering behind the scenes needs dealing with pronto.

I can't see that a token punishment of extra training today will serve any purpose. As it appears to be a punishment then obviously Dickov also believes it's a mental problem. Seems like a sledgehammer to crack a nut and rarely get's the desired response.

That's what makes me think he has lost it (if he ever had it), and lost it sometime ago.

The players are probably thinking, same old, same old, why should we bother and are not motivated enough individually to do anything other than go through the motions.

McKenzie is just shit, looking back PD should have been sacked the moment he asked to sign him.

Dickos, I usually think you have some valid points, although now I think you are defending dickov purely for the sake of it and because you are trying to prove some kind of point.

I've been prepared to give him time, but even I'm now starting to realise he's clueless. Were a poor team with too many ageing players, mixed in with some very average academy players. In my view, giving him another 10 games to turn things around won't make any difference. Can't really see how performances will vastly improve

spot on.
Its not like we've got a big enough squad to get by until these new signings are match fit.

I'm not defending him, I've said elsewhere that now it's probably time for him to go.
But I'm not having this rubbish about us signing unfit players, it's nonsense.
Most players that are signed in the summer aren't fit.
He's signed probably the best goalie we've had in years, that's not being mentioned, and a striker that looks better than what we've had in a while.
Yes he might be struggling to get the best out I him, but it has nothing to do with signing unfit players

So Chaplow didn't play the first few pre season games why??? Because he was injured and unfit! Mackenzie has signed has barely played because of injury and being unfit, N'Guessan has barely played because he is unfit! Yes Stuckmann is a great signing and has undoubtedly been our player of the season so far but that speaks volumes for the rest of the team when the goalkeeper has had to keep us in games and yesterday saved us from a 6/7 goal hammering!

Don't be so daft,
So you're saying you shouldn't sign players that won't be able to play in a few of the pre season games but will be ok for the start of the season.

I'd love to know what it is you have against Mackenzie because you don't half spout some b*llocks.
He hasn't let us down in any game he has played and was probably our best player at Wigan.
I can't comment on yesterday as i wasnt there but from the sound of it they were all shit apart from Stuckman.

I thought MacKenzie looked okay against Southend.

No doubting he's no world beater though, albeit an improvement on what Jamie McCombe had become by last season.
