Rovers JPT Factoid

Last night was Rovers' 5th penalty shoot out in the Associate Members' Cup (currently called JPT) ................ and the first we have won. We have lost shootouts against Scunthorpe (1990-91), Hereford (2004-05), Grimsby (2007-8) and Crewe (2012-13).

In all competitions Rovers have now been faced with 13 penalty shootouts, winning 7 and losing 6.

   We were robbed blind in that Grimsby game,our keeper had to have his boots nailed to the goal line and theres could tackle the penalty taker.. and it was absolutely lashing it down as well..Oh and to cop it all I reversed into another car in Mcdonalds on the way home...lol

Pleased you felt able to vent that one - so much Rovers, so much heartache. We're all here for each other. Group hug!

...agreed ! Don't forget one of the freakiest own goals you will ever see either (or freakiest back pass ?)

As Holders at the time (I think) I was mortified when we lost and had I seen you were about to crash into another Car I would have lobbed myself between the two.

Actually only 10 vicar - we only needed 4 in the shootout against Leeds

And Williams is the only player to take more than 1, so 7 other players have been successful.

The Scunthorpe shoot out was like Penalties on Ice. Should have been extra goals for just standing up. And that was only me on the Pop Side after a few pints...

The Gary Woods save in the shoot out at Grimsby was legit and a great save.
Ordering a retake was a disgrace.
To think that someone on here said that referees don't cause teams to lose games......

I too got there late and soaked. Only saving grace was the stonking good fish and chips from the local Chippie.
