Scottish Premiership - how good is it ?
« on September 12, 2015, 06:56:41 pm by Donnywolf »
I ask only because Celtic were 200 to 1 (ON) to win it before a ball was kicked yet Aberdeen are top and Paul Quinn YES Paul Quinn netted the winner at Pittodrie * GET IN !!!!!

* Pittodrie is supposed to translate as Hill Of Dung so I maybe have answered my own question. Come on you DONS !!!

For those challenged Geographically Aberdeen is on the River Don ... and for those EVEN MORE challenged geographically it is not the same River Don that Doncaster stands on (as if)

Aberdeen still probably won't win it, but they'll give Celtic a much better challenge this season. It's only in games against Celtic last year that they lost it, to be honest.

In terms of quality, it's on a par with low end League One, League Two level.
I got slaughterd for saying something on simular lines to that few months ago, glad it's not just me who thinks that, maybe some freindlys should be organised just to prove the point

Celtic are lower Premier league level, the teams just behind championship play-off teams, the rest are between relegation threatened teams in the championship, and top of league one.

It's a false comparison becasue of the TV deals. Better deals = more money = better players.

I've watched a lot of Scottish football in the "noughties" and whilst it was total w**k, if you put a lot of these clubs in the English system they'd comfortably compete at Championship level because of the extra revenue. In the SPL Hibs were paying £4k p/w max (hence us signing Shiels) so if they could double that figure they could bring in better players.
