Odd stat from this season
« on November 14, 2015, 10:06:51 pm by Dutch Uncle »
A bit late, but still true:

This is the first time in our 89 seasons in League/Conference that our first 7 league goals were scored by 7 different Rovers players (Forrester, Coppinger, Main, Butler, Stewart, Anderson, Williams).

There have been 2 occasions when the first 7 goals have come from 7 different players, but not all Rovers players.

In 1930-31 Rovers first 7 league goals were scored by 5 different Rovers players and two own goals by 2 Rotherham players

In 1982-3, after 3 games without a goal we won our fourth game 6-1 with 5 different Rovers players scoring and one own goal. The next game was lost 2-3 and I believe the first goal was scored by Billy Russell who did not score in the previous game.

Time to get out a bit more I think..............

I'd really hate to be the subject of a report written by you Dutch. The depth of observation is truly scary...

Thanks Hools.

As an addition to the one above, Keshi Anderson became Rovers first player to score 2 league goals this season, and that was in the 11th league match. This is just behind the longest number of games from the start of the season before a Rovers player scored 2 league goals - that is still the 12 games it took Billy Sharp to score 2 league goals after being slam-dunked in the opening match at Brighton in 2011-12.  Prior to that the longest was 10 games at the start of the 1936-7 season before Reg Baines scored his second league goal of the campaign.

Bob - how do you know your employer has not asked me to?  ;) (only joking mate  :))
By the way it is a shame that real and important questions like how to handle terrorism don't lend themselves to being approached in a similar black and white mathematical way

I have sometimes wondered if you might ever have been approached tbh...

As for a mathematical analysis of handling terrorism, I don't care WHAT we do but we have to do SOMETHING differently.  As I said elsewhere, if something isn't working, doing more of the same will not fix the problem. I don't think anyone could ever claim that our, and the rest of the West's,  terrorism policies in the 14 years since since September 11th have been anything other than elastoplast and meddling - at best.

I'm thinking over moving to Abbey Wood at the moment btw.
