Money coming to the club this weekend
« on January 06, 2016, 05:08:47 pm by Lincoln Rover »
Potentially £67,500 IF we win
Appearance money assuming we're on MOTD
Gate receipts 12000 x £15. We get 45% of that (£81,000) Less expenses stewards, officials etc.
Surprised to see that officials get £375 each with the 4 th official getting £300. Soon adds up.
Either way that's a nice earner for the club, and far more important, a good day ( hopefully ) for us fans.

How would we like the income to be spent? Do we want it all to go to the playing budget or a proportion in to stadium/infrastructure improvements?

maybe they could un-block the toilets in the west stand that would be a start

Accept the points on juniors and seniors etc, I'm simply trying to round things off.
I would imagine some of that will go towards paying off RW. Food for thought

Doncaster Rovers have confirmed the contract of veteran midfielder Richie Wellens has been cancelled by mutual consent,
this means his contract ends & there will be nothing to pay just free to find another club

MY understanding is that it means that the player will receive a proportion of his wages owing time up until the end of his contract. This is usually June 30 th.

Depends on the deal. With Wellens you'd imagine he'd want paying off, but some players are happy to be released just to get on with their careers and be done with it.

I understand the game will be live on Fox Sport in USA and wonder what the financial benefit of that is for us .

That would be correct Lincoln, it essentially means he's been paid off.

Thanks SM. Thought that would be the case. What he gets is a private matter.
Been checking on the FA site and each club involved in an overseas broadcast gets £6750.

We will still be saving money. Makes no sense to cancel his deal unless it saves us money. There will have been some meeting of minds.

Clubs only pay for policing if they are deployed inside the ground. This why you don't see many cops inside grounds these days. It will depend on the category of game also.
Given that there is no recent history between the clubs I doubt this game is high risk. That said, stokes fans are not renowned to be the best behaved.
Let's hope the game is played in the spirit of the cup on and off the pitch.

As Wellens was the one pushing  for the move I would have thought very little or
nothing would have been paid but I guess we will never know.CONTRACTS - RELEASE ON A FREE/MUTUAL TERMINATION
If you no longer want the services of a player at the club and can’t shift him on to another team, you may want to release the player from his contract and make him a free agent. If you decide to do this, you will have to pay off the remainder of his contract, unless you agree a mutual termination with the player. Should he also want out of the club, offering him the chance to leave the club in a mutual agreement for a lower payoff or completely free of charge may be successful – but it will not be in all cases, and you may end up merely making the player more stubborn, making things harder for you as he takes offence at being asked to leave.

Maybe Wellens should be praised for not enforcing a pay off from the club, though it suits him so he can join who he wants, if he was greedy, he could have held on until the end of the contract.

It wouldn't do the rest of his career any good to not be in a squad for half a season in League One. Wellens would have done what's best for Wellens, I'm sure of that.
