People I know at work went on Saturday they came in on Monday morning and came up to me and said wow. That was awesome the game and the atmosphere. I asked if they were going on Saturday and no they aren't because it's £92 for 4 of them and 3 weeks after pay day. Football is now a rip off for what it is. Sad that people want to go but can't because they can't afford it.

But no doubt they will be happy to go out on the lash in town on Friday night and spend more than twice the price of a ticket for the game on Saturday.

I suspect they're not that bothered. Even if it wad £20, they'd probably say it'll cost £80 before pay day!

Our ticket prices are the average in this league look at Scunthorpe prices for our game

http://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/news/article/Scunthorpe-a-ticket-info-1875995.aspx

So people who believe our prices are to high and cannot get to the game on Saturday. Won't be going to Scunthorpe for the same reason!!!

Not really fair there Yorkired.
Not everyone has £90 to spare to spend on a friday night out or going to football.

£23 for a rovers ticket. so where does the £90 come from?

I was a season ticket holder until this season because of financial constraints, which ment that I could pick and choose the game's that appeal to me most such as Scunny , Sheffield United etc.

The fact that 23 pound is way to expensive for me to attend these game's can only mean until the  club's realise  that the price structure in this country needs to be looked into.
The fact is  as much as I love to watch and support my team I like many other's won't be able to attend and that a real kick in the face.
Having said that look at Sheffield Wednesday  43 pound for Saturday that is a joke RTID

I bet all these people clambering for £15 entry to ALL games would also be the first to moan when we have a much smaller budget to bring in players.
Make every game £15 which would also mean £10 for seniors and £5 for kids and you could say goodbye to  players like Copps, Williams, Evina, Butler etc.

If you pay £23 to go to the Gillingham game and then miss the next it is cheaper than seeing two home games at £20.
You don't have to miss every game because it is £23 a ticket.

Wrong.

As long as we've got a well-run club to support, I couldn't give a monkeys who pulls on the shirt or what league we're in.

That's where we think differently then. If all games were reduced down to £15, £10 etc I wouldn't consider the club to be well-run!

Surely they could trial £20 a game for the last 2 or 3 games of the season and see if that bumps up attendances in any way? Paying more than £20 a game does seem to be the main reason floating fans don't want to go so just try it out and see if they turn up.

COME ON YOU HOOOOOPS!!!  :scarf:

No one did - Iberian was just turning your argument around I think?

Anyway, hasn't it already been shown that when we have ticket offers the attendance doesn't necessarily increase significantly?

Not at all my learned friend, don't get so jumpy.
You said lower prices would signify that the club wasn't as well run. My question to you was if higher prices would signify the club was better run!!
Thanks for the explanation IDM,though I didn't believe the question to be too complex.

I suspect they're not that bothered. Even if it wad £20, they'd probably say it'll cost £80 before pay day!

Sorry mystic meg. Prick

Thank you! Was merely an observation on how people are when choosing games v cost. Some of my mates are the same. £20 or £23 they don't see the Gillingham game as big enough pull. It wasn't an attack on anyone!

So after playing really well and almost and deservedly nearly getting a draw against a premiership team, the next game is at home against the team 2nd in the league and it's not attractive enough for them!!!
I guess we won't be seeing your mates again until we possibly draw a premiership team in a cup game then?
But only if it's £15 of course.

I too am a little confused.

The league is our bread and butter.  DF has got the team in great form - not our best yet, but playing well - we've just given a premier league team a really good go, and we are entertaining and scoring goals.

The next game is against a leading team in the division - what more do folks want?  This should be the sort of game where fans accept the prices, and maybe go to this one but not Port Vale a week or so later?

As pointed out, there are several ways to pay less than £23.

The club are very, very conscious of the pricing of tickets. Its a balancing act of course, we need the revenue for the playing budget, but we also need people through the door. To be fair, every time I've asked the club to do something to assist or respond to a situation they've always come up with the goods.

And that has to be a credit to our current owners, the shortfall has to be made up somewhere and that's invariably TB and DW putting their hands in their pockets.

It will be enough for some but not others. Now given the Sheff Utd game coming up, they will probably see that as more attractive and when they next pay £23.

Some will probably rather pay £23 to Scunthorpe United foe our away game.
