Drug testing-Sharapova
« on March 08, 2016, 12:53:07 pm by wing commander »
Is it me or is the drug testing policy in sport just not working...It seems to me that for whatever reason they cant catch the people who are doing it for performance gain but concentrating on people who have just made a mistake with the list...She had taken this for ten years quite openly for health reasons (under a different name) and got caught out because it had been added to the list in January..Yes she should have realised,i accept that but this is no success story for clean sport that's for sure....
Do the testing procedures actually work? or are the sportsmen and woman who are deliberately doping just one step ahead of the latest testing so the only success they get is catching people who have something in there system due to a pretty honest mistake????

Sounds about right to me. After all, Lance Armstrong never failed a drug test.

Really the fault lies with her medical advisers for not picking up on the fault that whatever she was taking has become illegal.

The drug she was taking should be taken for 4-6 weeks not 10 years! Strange?

Did/does she have the health problems these drugs are meant to help? If she has its a wonder she could play tennis at all.

Given the side effect of the drug are  'an increase in endurance performance of athletes, improved rehabilitation after exercise'  why was it only banned this year.
