I wonder if 22 is the lowest median age we've ever had?

Compare that with the start of the season which I believe was 28. A lot has changed.

Probably not a fair comparison, but at the fag end of 1997-98 we probably had a much younger median age.

Also Billy Bremner fielded quite a lot of young lads, along with some old lags to guide them. The latter is what we're missing, because our older players don't show the same leadership that the likes of Warboys, Little and Hugh Dowd did.

Is the amount of youngsters in the first team having an adverse affect on performances?

Maybe we should look at suring up the team with experience and see out the season?

On the other hand if they stay in and we stay up it will surely help their development as players.

You know, I was still in shock last night. But, in the cold light of day, if these kids can get us through to the end of the season intact then it could be the making of them.
I do start to wonder if most of these loanees will be available in the summer and that's why we have them now. A strong set of youngsters is going to be vital when the new loan restrictions kick in from next season.

I see us signing Grant permanently, and Keshi Anderson wouldn't surprise me if we got him, but that would only be in this league, get relegated then no chance.
Personally for me, when you are struggling near the bottom of the league, you need experience to drag you out of it.
We have to watch some of the younger players confidence isn't destroyed.
One or two young players then the rest on the bench, this season will make a few of them, but it will also break a few!.

AT the owners meeting DF said virtually no chance of getting Conor Grant next year as he expects him to be in Evertons 1st team squad.
