Makes Dickovs run look good and up there with SoD.
To be honest I do think that had we stuck with Dickov we would be safe in mid table now.
At least his team was hard to beat even if it was boring to watch.

It's Dickov's team that is 21st in the league. Mostly His signings aren't they? And you would have him back now would you? Please tell me you wouldn't, would you?

We were in the relegation zone with Dickov so don't know how you can think we would be safe by now under him.

Revisionism.

Dickov was a good manager, Main was a good player, Jones wasn't passed it, we should have kept Wellens etc etc. etc. etc. You could go on forever and some people literally do.

I remember the football under dickov. It was turgid, horrible, perpetually boring stuff. We were shite then, we are shite now but at least trying to get a winning formula.

Move on.

Though not wanting Dickov back I'd have Forrester, Jones & Wellens. I guarantee with those available we wouldn't be in the bottom 4

What you want is a Forrester who is going to turn in performances, a fully fit Rob Jones and a Wellens in his prime.

We didn't have any of those things.

Shame really coz if they did you might understand that I could be right.
We are no better off now and that is proven.

No we didn't but we'd still have benefitted from one performance from any of them.

Don't think we can pin this squad entirely on Dickov. How many players has Ferguson had in since he joined?

Grant
Eddie L
Gooch
Rowe
Alcock
Vale keeper
Calder

None of them a massive commanding CB.

It's almost as if there isn't this huge glut of commanding CBs out there ready to be loaned to a L1 side at a moments notice, isn't it?

Come on. How many players has he brought in?? And how many have been a defender? He's obsessed with midfield and still can't get it right.

SOD managed to bring the likes of Elliot Ward in part way through a season. Stop giving the guy excuses

Without the decent run under Ferguson when he first joined, for me under Dickov we would already be down!. We have Colchester next, they can't keep clean sheets either. We are good enough to get at least a point, but Moncur is the one we need to stop in that game, a really good player.

Very astute observation Sammy. That initial impetus from Fergie is what appears to have given us a fighting chance of staying up.
