Felipe Mattioni
« on March 15, 2016, 03:29:58 pm by RoversAlias »
The full back played 90 minutes for Everton U21s in a defeat to Reading last night. Does this mean he may be on Fergie's radar to come back for the last few games?

Is the loan window even still open?

I saw this game over here in the Dtates. David Pleat was the summariser and he was not impressed at all with Mattioni.

I don't think our funds stretch far enough for 'impressive' players.

He is one of five who are to be released by Everton at end of season. So will he sit it out or put himself in the window.

Not strictly true. He's out of contract and any talks will be held at the end of the season. I wouldn't offer odds against him being released though.

Would be nice if they could lend us Leon Osman!

If that's the case, then lets get him here and playing?

Can't see Mattioni getting a new deal, especially with Everton now having money to spend.

As good as he looked for the short time we had him, can we really afford to gamble on another injury prone player?

I thought I heard from Fergie that although he would like him back, Everton had other plans for him. I would guess that if he can't cut it at Everton, he'd want to try his hand at as higher level as possible beyond League One and provably beyond England.

Similar with Grant, they'll want to test him at a higher level once he's completed part of his apprenticeship at League One.

Sorry Sammy, we get him a lot as a summariser over here and I am impressed at how honest his opinions are. He knows a hell of a lot about football from the top to the bottom.

Sorry Sammy, we get him a lot as a summariser over here and I am impressed at how honest his opinions are. He knows a hell of a lot about football from the top to the bottom.

I also like him, it seems he isn't glamorous enough to be a regular on english tv. He seems to get radio jobs mostly a shame as most of the pundits don't know a quarter of what he does, i love to see people who are like myself and could talk for a month solid about football and it not be a chore.
I also like Roy Keane, he can be a touch bitter at times, but he is unpredictable, and does have an opinion, there's no false platitudes with him.
I think i would have a lot of disagreements with him if i knew him personally, but a lot of what he says i would probably put it a similar way, i hate fakeness, i suspect he does as well.

He isn't scared to dig anybody out for a bad display, and gives credit when due. Alan Shearer i admired as a player, but as a pundit his only use is laughing at Linekers three year old kid jokes!.

Shearer can be quite entertaining when he goes off on one about the state of Newcastle United, a subject obviously close to his heart. I just wish he was more passionate about the other stuff.
