He did give us a questionable goal and a penalty (red card for them). I have no complaints.

He absolutely did Filo and the linesmen alike.  There were two offsides given against us late on that were just plain wrong.

If I were the Wigan Chairman I wouldn't be paying the Rfs wages this week  :bbscarf:

Gave some odd free kicks all game but then the penalty must have been right on the edge of the box & tbf the lino gave the second goal without a doubt.

It was well over the line for me that goal.

Yes. Both the goal and the penalty were the correct decisions. I had a great view of both from behind my rose tinted specs.

I am almost in line with the goal and i didn't think it had gone over the line. The linesman had no doubt though as he gave it immediately.

He was mystifying at times. Seemed to lecture their players and very reluctant to give them yellows, but ours went straight in. Very inconsistent at times using guess work alot. Even the Sky reporter laughed at some of the decisions.

Could have done with that Lino at Rochdale. Would have had penalty for the wrestle on Williams.

Got to agree.

He got two things right - the Red Card and the final whistle

The Lino gave then pen because the ref was miles behind the play.
The second goal was well over the line.
The ref lost the game for a while in the second half.
He was very inconsistent with the bookings.
Some very obvious ones not booked and some inocuous fouls led to yellows.

The Lino gave then pen because the ref was miles behind the play. (Agreed Get a Ref in each half as I have said more than once)

The second goal was well over the line. (True - their Players reactions said it all for me - they knew)

The ref lost the game for a while in the second half. (I am sick of seeing Refs who are not up to the job and this was another. Next Season may be even worse)

He was very inconsistent with the bookings. Some very obvious ones not booked and some inocuous fouls led to yellows. (He was ... Chaplow booking on their number 8 who yelped really loud was worthy of a Booking but then the same Number 8 cynically chopped (someone) on the edge of the area and got away with a Card)

The one bit of credit - sorry two bits of credit were with McSheffrey he called him over in the Centre Circle and read him the riot act and not long after he did a fairly "simple" foul and was instantly booked.

The second credit was he spotted that their defender had knocked the ball out with his shoulder leading to the Corner(s) that got us the 2 killer goals

I did think he was inconsistent, but I've seen worse.

Wigan reminded me a lot of MK Dons last season, a rather snide, cynical bunch who were happy to indulge in a bit of  "afters." You need a stronger referee than that chap to get on top of it. I'd send Trevor Kettle in their direction!

Why didn't he book their guy who when the whistle went carried the ball nearly to the half way line to deny us possession/quick free kick.

I thought he was another shortarse, fat, sh*t incompetent ref with shortarse, fat, sh*t lino's right up until our 2nd goal was given which I think went over the line, but I've seen more obvious ones not given.

I thought he was ok then, lost a bit of weight and got about 6 inches taller in my eyes right up until he gave the penalty and sent off their player - I thought it was borderline in/out of the area but player had to go - seen more obvious penalties not given.

After that I thought he was a 7 foot giant of a man with abs like Arnie and the best ref I've seen at the KMS for years!! Let's hope every ref we get for the next 4 games is as brilliant!!

We said the same ... it was imo exactly the same as if he had booted the ball away

Refs do themselves no favours. He had a free shot there to pull out a (fully justified) Yellow and that would have immediately sent a message to players of both Teams
