Euro prediction Competition .... latest news (new)

Following on from P v O  ,  the Unofficial  Prediction Thread and Super6 which all seemed to go down well a few people seem to "want more "

I have offered to run a Comp and was thinking it could be based on Super6 . Could predict Result and Score for all 51 games with 5 points for correct score and 2 for right result ? It would be hectic getting in all predictions with games going off daily then marking them and reporting them back but I will give it a go if demand is there.  We may be able to "blag " a prize or two and it would be a bit of background interest if England are knocked out "early "

So what do people reckon or does anyone have a better option for the style of Comp or fancy doing one themselves.

Post alternatives and / or suggestions here and we can get something going

I'm sure a super 6 was run during the last world cup, perhaps they will do it for the euros

You could always spread the competition over a week at a time and choose a set of fixtures to predict to avoid absolute chaos.

But obviously set the deadline for kick off of the first match or whatever.

I know its not football but I've just started doing the Channel 4 Pick 6.
You log in with the super six log in details and password.
Pix six horses winner each week gets £10000.

I know nothing about horses but I've enjoyed watching the races more.

You could always spread the competition over a week at a time and choose a set of fixtures to predict to avoid absolute chaos.

But obviously set the deadline for kick off of the first match or whatever.

I fancy doing "it" for every Match and so that will hopefully keep everyone in and interested throughout the Euros.

I used to do a Comp (when I was working) on Euros and World Cup etc where you had to choose Group Winners and Runners up how far England would get , the Semi Finalists and the Winner and Runner up. We used to chuck a quid in each but my Sports and Social were the Promoters of the Comp.

Pretty sure we could not get away with a £1 entry fee. Anyway that took some running as did the Season long one predicting all the key positions in all 4 Leagues plus the Conference including all promos, Play off winners and Relegation. That one was ok but was a little of a long winded Comp

I think doing a Super51 would be ok keeping everyone "in" and hopefully as Filo said Sky may do a Comp which we can tap into ! We will have to see what happens - otherwise its go it alone I guess

Wolfie, what about a Euro style PvO, the difference being everyone would have to predict the group stage scores before they start. In Knock out stage predict each days score. Doing a score per game doesn't work for Euros.

Filo right (again) ... Just announced a Super6 Competition for the Euros and so I will form a League probably as Donny Rovers again and those interested can join - leaving the field free for anyone else to run a different style of Competition if they wish. Certainly room for 2 Comps or more

Anyway they are starting in "early June" - and have also announced a new Fantasy6 Competition with £10000 a game I think it was for the Winner ... starts with the Taargers v Owls PO Final - check it out

Saw your post and had a look at the Comp. Then saw Woman yesterday picking up 10 Grand for getting 6 right (including 25/1 shot) on her first go

So I had a go and it was all over in Race 1 !!! I then thought Sods law other 5 will win but they finished W Place Place Unplaced Unplaced ! Will have another go though !

Bad luck on Champions League where I employed my fav bet. One Team to be leading at HT and the other to comeback and win in 90 mins. It was 40/1 for Real HT and AM to come back. When AM got Pen in 2nd Half I was counting ! Fool - "Trotta" Griezmann and ME

Why not do the group stage predictions in a block, way before, sort of an ante post block predictor?. Then do it so many games at a time when it's the knockout stage!. Otherwise the fixtures are so close together, i would bet a fair few will forget to put them all on.
It will give you a less stressful tournament, wolf, in putting the tables etc together, and give you time to enjoy the predicting and tournament.
