Aye. I hear the "mentoring" went well early in the season.

What was that then?

Less of the negative posts.  Some on here want to know where he ends up.

Fair enough NED...I'm hoping it's one of our potential rivals tbh...See if he can cause no end of headaches for somebody else...

Sorry Wingco. I just don't get this  "Wellens is a bad egg" narrative. I think he got disillusioned during his last year at DRFC, and I think it's a pity he didn't move on after we were relegated.

We've all had jobs where we've been unhappy. I think we should cut him some slack and focus on the good times he had with the club.

Looking at a few of his tweets he still has affection for Rovers. Maybe we could give him a bit back?

Not for me Red Baron,i've been told far too many things about Wellens from various people who have worked with him during his last season with us...And if even half of them are true people's opinions of him would change drastically...
I normally wish all our ex players well in their careers elsewhere and Wellens was my favourite player during his first spell with us..but he's no Rovers legend to me anymore....

He will always remain as one of the best midfielders I've ever seen play for the Rovers. A quick footballing brain, could always pick a pass and do the unexpected.
I'll concentrate on the positives, good luck wherever he ends up but is it really worth dragging him up over and over again.
We need to concentrate on the future not the past.

I heard a certain left footed centre-half took lots of offence to various comments/actions by Richie not too long back and nearly throttled him up against the dressing room wall and basically told him to shut the f**k up and f**k off - or words to that affect!

I have no idea how true that is tho!

Were you looking through the keyhole Al, in 'what the butler saw' fashion?

In my top 3 all time rovers players. I am not really bothered if he was a dick off the pitch it's on it that matters. More so in his first spell he was class

All the "bad egg stories" on here are just here say.
Tell them often enough and people will take them to be true.

Agreed Hound. Reminds me a lot of that old gig: whisper a little story to one end of the class and have them pass it round the class person by person. Anyone ever end up with 'Send three and fourpence I'm going to a dance'.

Cricket Bob, that saying goes back quite a few years.
I remember it from my long since gone schooldays.

Share them with the rest of us not in the know. Did he sell a youth player a dodgy motor?, Did he get the young players cleaning his second hand pedalo?, Was he caught in a compromising position with the west ham iron mascot?, Was he gun running over the border from lancashire?, Has he been smuggling illegals in the back of his corsa?, the mind boggles....
