Chins up lads and lasses

It's not all doom and gloom for the English game.

Crystal Palace are about to spend £38m on a Belgian substitute.

I blamed Crystal Palace for us losing last night.

They gave Rooney who was washed up as a Striker the freedom of Wembley v Manure and made him look half decent as a Midfielder - when in truth Wellens even at his age would have done exactly the same as Rooney given that time and space

RH (now departed) was out of a hole and could accommodate Rooney in Englands Midfield rather than agonise trying to find him a spot "up front". Well it did not work - and lets hope thats an end to it (and him)

On the op - another example of why we fail miserably on the International Stage - buy not find then nurture your own talent. We will soon have a full Premier League of "imported" Goalkeepers as I bet Pep will oust Hart pdq - when once we had conveyor belts of great keepers - including the era of Shilton and Clemence who were both so good that without the other each could have racked up 150 Caps - and look at us now !

I watched us beat Ukraine then lose to Italy 4 years ago when I was in Majorca
Saw us lose in Rhodes last night and the only ones laughing were the Russians.
Oh well at least I'll be back in the cold and wet tomorrow.
Could have to be somewhere different in 4 years time.

Last line reminds me of something I have posted before ....

When Graham Taylor failed to get us to the USA he left England and took over at Wolves. On a pre Season Tour he got off the Wolves Coach way up Norway or Sweden somewhere

A Group of Wolfies were there to greet the Coach so GT ambled over and during the small talk he said to a couple of them " I thought you lot would have something better to do than be here watching Wolves play friendlies " ..... "oh pipes up one of them we WERE going to the World Cup to watch England but you f***** that up for us didn't you "
