The club have just invested in a whole new CRM and ticketing package. The benefits will feed through in the next few weeks.

Barcode entry?

Can't understand this fixation with barcode entry ? A lot of people spent a lot of time and effort persuading the club to introduce pay on the gate. That's the first thing that would disappear.
Financially ? It was offered to the club when the Keepmoat was built, but it was one of the things dropped to save costs. Believe me, it would take 25 years to pay the same amount to all the turnstile staff for what it would have cost to install it then. It's also false economics because you would still have to deploy a steward on each turnstile to check people were using the 'right tickets', so you're still paying a match by match salary.
It wouldn't make a significant difference in size of the queue, even less so now in the depths of League 2 with the smaller crowds.
You also get the friendly banter with the turnstile staff who are usually the font of any questions you need answering.
So, I'll ask again. What's with this fascination, does it make us a 'proper bigger' club because of barcode entry or is it more to do with your fascination with attendances ?

In fairness, I don't recall ever seeing a steward check you had the correct ticket - I was at the England game yesterday and nobody looked at anybody's ticket, for example - and we already have stewards standing outside the South Stand entrance so it wouldn't make a great deal of difference.

Agree on the cash turnstyles however.

Didn't Sheffield United have a decrease in adult season ticket sales, but a substantial increase in junior ones? Wonder why!

At Elland road a few years back my 24 year old nephew who's 6ft 2" went through with the turnstile using a junior ticket he'd been given.

I suspect there's a lot of this sort of thing goes on with barcode entry.

Someone I know has a season ticket for Elland Road in his 8 year old nephew's name. He has never had his checked and saves a fortune.

That'll be because anyone with a grown up mind buying a ticket for that place is sectioned straight away 😀

Already bought my ST, wouldn't mind if they introduced the odd match voucher system where you could bring a friend. It would certainly compensate for the slight gripe I feel. To

The plan is to provide ST holders with additional benefits form the clubs partners. There'll also be voucher benefits from time to time as well.
They have gone a bit over the top. I am being promised potentially at least my ST money back in offers throughout the season.....mmmm....believe that when I see it....However as I was always getting a season ticket, as I have for years, not grumbling...just fascinated what these "offers" will be....

I haven't had any details of individual offers either, so we'll have to see what they consist of when announced.

Can someone explain to me what you get with a membership? Obviously discounted home games but do you get anything else eg priority for away tickets or anything like that?

Away tickets usually go on sale to members before they go on general sale.

Revisiting an old topic here but I've realised that there is no way I can justify the price of a season ticket this season so a membership seems a decent option.

One question, no indication of how you get hold of one on the official site - do you have to ring or visit the ticket office in person?

I rang up and ordered it on the phone, then collected in person. This is my 3rd membership card i've had, worth having if you don't have a season ticket.

Membership also gives you discount in club shop (10%) I think.

Followed IDM's link and now a member. Looks a good deal for those who can't afford/justify a season ticket.

I got my card in the post a few days ago. My first time too.  A tenner up front isn't too much to spend and it makes game budgeting easier.  In a few weeks I'll have forgotten about that £10 and £17 a game will be a much better prospect than £23 from last season..

Just an idea, I don't want anything in return for a membership card , but could we push for STH to buy a membership card ? I don't mind paying an extra £10 a year, but for others what kind of small incentive could we push for other STH to join,
just an idea for those willing ,and extra income for the club?

Just renewed my membership today. I'm number 296, so I presume they've sold about that. Last year I was number 128, so I think they will more than double the numbers at least.

Isn't that what the Alliance scheme does with regular cash draws, free tickets etc?

I don't know how it works Copps but I'm no. 486 and my son is no. 28099 so we might struggle to get a seat with nearly 30,000 members. 😉

You have to admit, the club do think about the fans, and try to help where they can. Prices had to drop, while also being high enough to compete. I think most on here know my views on pricing, i think above fifteen quid is too much, but the club can't drop it that far, until we are doing better!.
The good thing about our club, is when you buy your ticket, or buy a shirt from the shop, you know you are making a difference. Every penny is needed to get us pushing back up the leagues.

The money doesn't drop into somebodies pocket, it gets used in many ways to improve things, either on the field or off!.
A lot of teams will enjoy our away following, bumping up the attendances, we are a small club, but we don't do bad on numbers away. If only we could get close to ten thousand in every week at home, then the club could move forward quicker, with a good start, who knows?.
