Harry Middleton

The lad is fast improving in my opinion, and is now starting to show what he is capable of.
He was a big influence on our domination of midfield in the first half, just as he was at Mansfield, and with the lad from Chelsea to quote an old saying,we have two good young uns coming on.

Good to hear. Hopefully he'll develop over the season, along with the rest of the young 'uns, and be with us for quite some time.*

*unless sold for a ridiculous amount with decent 'sell-on' clauses... Naturally!

It always helps a young player to be playing in a side that's going well. His job now is to set himself standards and don't drop below them.

Consistency is what he needs, but SCWK is correct, we need these youngsters in a good side for a change.  It's been tough on the youngsters having to be mainstays in poor teams, now they can hopefully kick on in a good team.

He's doing well and I'm pleased. This is a big season for Harry as his progress had come to a stuttering halt last season and he struggled for a game at times..Yes you can give the reasons as above from BFYP and they are valid ones but football is sink or swim for youngsters these days and he needs to put his mark down consistently now...

Would love to see Calder and Houghton signed up permanently in January, both could be big players for the future !!

I agree it's a key time in a Harry's future. He didn't start the season well but it seems his last 3 appearences have been on the money.

We know DF has limited patience so maybe the message has hit home. It helps mind you having a young player like Houghton alongside who's had schooling at a much higher level. Perhaps now they're getting the confidence to play with more freedom and really express themselves.

Keegan will do well to get the odd appearance if our midfield continues to improve.

Let's not get too carried away yet. Although I agree it's great Houghton is playing well, so was Connor grant at the start of his loan. His form then dipped (as all young players do) and he got slated on here.

Just one to keep in mind
