They're trying to wind up Marquis. Get Beestin on.

Clear pen. Both legs taken out. I was right behind it. Ref gives against Marquis and books him. Ridiculous.

Both fouls on Marquis were certain penalties, the second one in particular can't have been anything else. He was going past the last defender into a shooting position, he even had the option of setting another player(Williams I think) up for a tap in with a square ball.
Why would he go down if he wasn't clipped.
That was one of a number of shocking decisions by another poor referee.
If that ref is PL then I am amazed.
He lost control towards the end of the game due to not stamping out Newports spoiling tactics earlier.
I think Newport surprised some fans because overall they were not too bad a side, they will beat quite a few sides this season.

He definatly got clippers, then I thought he initially tried to ride it out then changed his mind which exagerrated the fall- still a blatant Foul mind

We all see it differently.
I thought the first was a stone wall penalty.
The second looked slightly less certain but the exaggerated fall made it look more dubious.

The Newport player came right across his legs after he'd nudged the ball forward. Clear pen. To book him for diving was just an insult.

The first was an ankle tap and a clear penalty IMHO

Me and DD both thought he made a meal of it
Clearly leapt as if he was  simulating a foul
If he had just gone down would have been a pen but he overegged it

All players get their feet off the ground when they see the challenge coming.  It saves getting your leg broken.  He was definitely caught from the side.  The incident isnt on any of the highlights I've seen so far (nor is Wright's back header at the end of the first half when he was laid on the ground)
