for the 1st time this season, we had 3 officials who seemed to get everything right, what a change from what we usually get, for once they deserve credit

I dunno, there were a few odd decisions especially against Williams, and not booking KB for pulling Mason (??) down off the ball.

Good call to book their striker for the dive in the first half though..

Overall I would say 3/5..

Apart from someone going into the back of Williams and giving them the free kick...

Mason got away with 2 fouls in the 1st half.

Referee's will always get slaughtered...For me he didn't have any big decisions to make really,a few cheap cards but on the whole the officials were ok...However you look at Pompey's forum and they thought he was awful and a homer...The ref is always ok when you win,and bloody rubbish when you lose..lol

Maybe it was my blinkers but I thought he made some good calls especially in the first half, but second half was bizarre.

I thought it was going to be a repeat performance of the infamous Mick Russell cheating game.

Playing the same team, an early goal, the officials performing well early in the game....

I said to my young 'en, "the refs quite good, for once, isn't he"?

My young 'en said "The last time you said that it was Mick Russell against Portsmouth"!

I don't think he had a good game. He got quite a few wrong but nothing major to deal with really.

Its a tough job and if you come away from the game not talking about the ref, he's had a decent match

I thought he did very well in the first half but the second half he completely lost the plot. The two free-kicks he gave against Andy Williams were ridiculous especially the second one.

I share your view on his performance. Definitely a game of 2 halves.

thought the ref did ok. Yes he didn't get everything right but then again neither did the players. Overall he didn't do anything that damaged the game or affected the outcome. Perhaps he gave us a bit more than the away team but I thought it was a good honest performance from the officials.

It was Burgess, who was already on a yellow card and should have been given a second one for that IMO.

I thought he was heavily in our favour at times. What fans term a 'Homer', we've been on the other end of things before so i'm not complaining.
