Do you think Referee's  have to much power and  they are not accountable

No thinking about it, they have way too much power. Think it's time they start being accountable for their mistakes as yesterday the ref and the one linesman were absolutely shocking. Worse I've seen for a long long time.

Overall I have seen much worse displays but the foul on Copps in pen area and the deflection for a corner were unforgivable errors.
5737 people saw them !!!

They face a difficult job for sure. I slag then all the time but have to say they get just one look to make their minds up

Pundits on BT Score etc and Howard Webb get as many looks as they want and still often disagree on some issues. The Refs are not helped by the cheating diving and player behaviour that is true but they make some incredibly bad decisions on top of that like yesterdays Muppets did

The Game needs credibility or it is off down the pan. We only got goal line technology after the stupidity of Lampards Goal v Germany left "them" with no option but to introduce it - in the Premier League only

In American Football there are 7 (maybe more) Umpires an they watch everything so no Individual Player of Team gets away with anything unless they screw up which probably happens but fairly rarely and that should happen here with more Officials on duty. I have already said elsewhere - get a Ref in each half for a start so a 40 year old trying to keep up with a fir 19 or 20 yo at least only has to cover half a Pitch. They will still get things wrong but at least there will be less of an excuse for it

Interestingly before the meeting I attended earlier today (just got in) we had a presentation from Chris Foy (ex-PL) who now works for the Professional Game Match Officials Board. His presentation covered all the new law changes and the guidelines given to referees and how they should be interpreted. It was an eye opener, and certainly the laws coupled with video evidence to support their argument was really good.

He's suggested that if there is the demand he can come and give the same presentation to supporter groups so I'll try and set that up if people feel its worthwhile.

As an opener he asked the question of how many law changes there was at the start of the season. Any guesses?

The thing what gets me more wound up than anything is the cowards with the flag. Why do they do the job if they bottle all the main decision. A lot of the time the refs view in blocked by several players in front of him but the lino has a clear view yet never flags. Just today Hull should of been awarded a penalty straight in front of the linesman but he just put his flag up for a throwing. As for two refs, one in each half is a very good idea. After all some of the ones we've had over the last few weeks have been well past there sell by date.

A feature of this weekend in the PL has been some very poor decisions - or non-decisions - from the line.

You just have to laugh at the linesmen.
They ALWAYS wait for the ref to indicate which way a throw in has been awarded and then a split second later indicate the same way with the flag.

I thought the three of them had wireless radio headsets so they can communicate with each other. Surely all the lino has to say as soon as he see's an infringement etc is "home throw in" or "away free kick" etc, etc, so the ref knows immediately what to award. Lino's these days seem shit scared of contradicting the referree's decision.

Yes, avoiding looking stupid is higher priority than making the right decision.
