DRFC Archives - New Twitter Page - Your help needed
« on February 28, 2017, 11:32:12 am by Belle-Vue-Ghost »
Hello there folks, hope you are all well.

Just a bit of a heads up really, I've decided to set up a Twitter page for a bit of drfc nostalgia  :) Every now and again theres nothing I love more than looking at some old football photos from the years gone by.  I've decided to set up the page to collect some of the fine photos so they can all be in one place for us all to see.

This is where you come in! I want this to be a fan page. Any help that anyone is willing to give regarding your old photos so that I can put them on the page. Old pictures of games, shirts, programs, the ground, action shots etc.  Anything that comes over will be fully credited to whoever sent it.  If you know the approximate year and any players in the photos that would help too.

I've literally just set the twitter page up so there isn't much on there at the moment, but I'd love to build it into a big library of a twitter page. Go and give the page a follow on twitter if you just want a general look as it comes along @DrfcArchives .  If you follow the page and want to send us some pics via Twitter DM then fantastic.  Or you can PM me on here and I can give you the email address to send some to.

Thanks in advance for any help received.  :scarf: :scarf:

I have a great photo of Doncaster rovers first goal scored at BV during our conference days.

Took it with one of them throw away cameras as ball was hitting back of the net from side on main stand terrace view.

Without google search please name the

Game

Scorer

Result

Which end the goal was scored at

I can remember we won 1-0. Wasn't Kidderminster was it?

Do you want to take a photo (of the photo) and send it over if you're happy for me to use it?

If I ever find the photo I be more than happy to mate .

It was against kiddyminster  I seem to recall ,but for life of me I have no idea who the goal score was.

It was on a nice sunny day that I do recall.

I'm not sure Twitter is the best medium for this. Facebook would be better, I think, although you could use Twitter for publicising it.

I have been using Instagram to post up old pictures of DRFC. You can see them here. I will be adding more soon.

I might use both to be honest. Will see how the Twitter page shapes up but a Facebook page could also be the way forward

Correct on all accounts mr Red Baron.

It was really doing my head in who took that pen that day and I would never have recalled
Shaun goodwins name.

Would I be correct in saying that Shaun Goodwin was our captain back then? And if so that might
explain why I kept on thinking it was Dave penny that took that pen,but I knew penny did not play for
rovers in 1st season In  Conference

We'll see how it goes, I may set up a Facebook one too. The Twitter page has gone down well on the first day with over 20 follows. Thanks to everyone who has had a look
