First Cuckoo of Spring ?

No but at 16.00 last night I saw the first Swimmers of "Summer" in Canal at Thorne. March the 9th

Three of them "strutted" up to Moores Bridge - 2 without Shirts (well it had been a scorcher dont forget) and one in Sunglasses. They surveyed the Canal - commenting that it was flat calm - that it was the cleanest they had ever seen it (granted there were no dead animals floating past) - and within a minute they had stripped off and dived in from the Swing Bridge

I bet the heatwave of yesterday had not raised the Temp past 8c though.

That brings back memories of yesteryear when I saw a kid actually walking on the water of the River Don, near Bentley. Apparently, he'd jumped in and landed on top of a Ford Anglia.

Speaking of Cuckoos now that the longer, sunnier, warmist days are ahead I will have nothing better to do than post my predictions of imminent catastrophe & impending certain doom at all times of day.
