Touchdown > FOOTBALL > yanks have taken over wembley

It's BAL V JAX whoever they are and BAL are getting a good dicking by 44pts to NIL.

Does this mean that there is no such thing as home advantage within the NFL?

Surely in about XXX amount of years a top plight premiership game will be played away from our goldern shores.

What on earth is a 2nd & 7 ???

For the record it seems the whole of the crowd is sat down ,maybe we should make togger games stretch out to whatever hours +++ to help erradicate our standing sitting issues.

NOT sure but think that 2 +7 is something to do with 2nd attack with a gain of 7 yards

My mate is mad on it and goes to every game at Wembley..Think there are a few more scheduled this season...I cant get my head round it...It takes forever to play and holds no interest for me,however I've promised to go to the next one to experience it live..Although I will be treating it as a day on the lash with egg chasing thrown in...

I'm all for actually giving things a go and watching it live....I'm not the greatest cricket fan but every year we all go for a day out at a test match and it's a fantastic day out...

Think I like to watch it just to pick up on terms like  2nd & 7 and think WTF does that mean.

The whole length of the game might get the better of me and I could never attended said game with shoulder pads over sized Dallas cowboys shirt with black paint under my eyes.

At a push I fancy turning up in a yank NFL refs outfit and standing up during game and shouting > T O U C H   D O W N.  FOOTBALL >

It's a different game, and really easy to criticise if you're not too familiar with it, or didn't grow up in the USA!

To answer the OP (partially) the attacking team has 4 attempts (or "downs") in each play to gain 10 yards up the pitch.  Get the ball in control of the attacking team over the other team's baseline ie into the "in zone" by running with the ball or throwing and catching, it's a touchdown - the main form of scoring.

2nd and 7 means the attacking team is on their second "down" in a set of 4, and has 7 yards to go to achieve their 10.  then it starts again.

Of course it is more complicated than that with all sorts of fouls and infringements..

There were several fans of Baltimore on my flight back from Washington last Wednesday evening..

played american football at uni. Is actually a very inclusive game as there's something for everyone. Also much more physical than most people think; broke my leg in the 2nd game from someone spearing my leg with their helmet (completely legal tackle btw)

2nd down, 7 yards to go to get the next set of (4) downs - simple!
