This won't help you but I recall a postman from cantley   ( not Sid ) who dug his heals into the ground and refused to be paid monthly by cheque and stood by getting paid weekly in cash in that old small brown envelope wage packet thing.

This was in mid or late 1980s whenever post office was changing its way of paying its staff.

He must have been one of last few to accept the new method and post office kept on offering a payment to accept new pay regime .

Don't quite know how it all ended but he still works at PO Doncaster.

I know a little, depends on the actual question though.

A few years ago the company I worked for went from Fortnightly to Monthly pay. I don't think we had a lot of choice in the decision. They did, however, offer an interest-free loan to tide us over during the initial transitional period.

Yes what's up buddy , I used to work in Human Resources are they wanting to change you from weekly to monthly payments ?

If so allows them to free up cash flow and reduces administration. Usually little in it for you , however they can't leave you to struggle. Many companies offer 2 weeks pay and a small loan if you are really struggling to move you from weekly to 4 weekly/monthly.

It's not in their interests though to make it difficult for you, do you have a contract of employment and is their commission to take into account ? If so how is that paid ?

Would imagine by entering a formal negotiation period and following procedure rigorously there is little you can do
Sometimes better to try and negotiate something out of it in return

Does your contract state how you are to be paid?

Are you in a union? If so, they should be leading on this.

Does it actually impact you financially? I presume you pay most things monthly already (mortgage, rent, utilities etc)

I would have thought that the best you can hope for is a short term interest free loan to tide you over the first couple of months and maybe a one-off payment to buy-out your existing contract, probably a couple of hundred quid at most.
