Was watching some 2.Bundesliga (2nd Division) and Cup highlights on the TV in the Staff of Life near Bury's ground other week. Even the attendances there were pretty good, atmosphere looked bouncing at some of the games and people drinking on the terraces.

Don't blame them really, different gravy over there.

Just generally like Germany as a country, people are friendly, beers cheap, foods decent, integrated transport system is second to none.

agreed Hanky Panky, was working out there in '95, Hamburg and Dortmund areas, Dortmund won the title, so went downtarn and enjoyed celebrations, great people. Sundays off unless had permission off the local Mayor, no loud machinery if you did get a licence to work. Sports centres well attended, loads of football centres for kids, very well attended. One thing that did surprise me out there was the amount of people living on permanent caravan parks. Great food, great beer, great people, great football.

Went to Hamburg Hoffenheim last year and it was fantastic - good atmosphere, good football and plenty of beer - what's not to like!

Incidentally I'm heading to Richmond tomorrow night to watch the Knights, looking forward to sinking a few with that as well!

I watch sc paderborn out in Germany. And I love it! Standing is amazing especially with a beer watching the match.

If folks get the chance to go to a game in Germany, they should go, I did, and it was a great experience:

Went to watch Bremen vs Dortmund a couple of years ago. Great atmosphere. The Bremen stand behind the goal was standing and it was full an hour before kick off.
