I was informed today of the passing away of former Rovers player Jackie Teasdale.
He played for us from 1949 till 1956.
I dont remember him but i am sure there are some on here who do.Condolences to all his family.

Sad news, indeed. One of my heroes from the 1950's.

R.I.P. Jackie.

I well remember watching Jackie Teasdale when younger, as along with Ken Hardwick and Brian Makepeace my Dad knew them all well as apparently they had worked alongside at Rossington Pit.

way before my time but one of those names that was always in the line up when you looked back on rovers' "golden age" in the 50's - here he is on the cover of "Raich Carter's Soccer Star" from June 1955...

Jackie suffered a career ending injury whilst on an FA Tour of Rhodesia and South Africa in the summer of 1956 . Also on that tour was Ted Burgin ( later to play for Rovers ) , Bobby Robson , John Bond , Gerry Hitchens and Bill Perry . The FA Xl won 16 of the 18 matches .

Does anyone know if he continued to live in Donny and what he did after he was forced to retire from football?

His injury was a few months before Alick Jeffrey broke his leg playing for England U-23s, so Rovers paid a high price for international call-ups.
