Annual farce
« on July 08, 2018, 10:19:03 pm by RedRover45 »
The 16 under 21 teams from the Prem and Championship have been announced for this seasons Checkatrade Trophy.
They are
Everton, Leicester, Man City, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Stoke, WBA, Wolves in the North draw and

Arsenal, Brighton, Chelsea, Fulham, Southampton, Swansea, Tottenham, West Ham in the South draw.

I'm willing to bet that Newcastle don't get drawn against Sunderland in the group draw which takes place next week.
A couple of minor changes for the 'invited' teams is they can only use a max of 2 players over 21 and also only 2 who have made more than 40 first team appearances.

Wonder if it will be the same resounding success as last season ?

If we have to suffer these teams again, at least the new rules on players ages and appearances is an improvement.

U21 sides have always been permitted 2 or3 overage players haven’t they?

Yeah i thought they were allowed a few.

Best thing about it is the group stage so the younger players are going to get 3 games at least

Will never ever attend games in this competition as long as it's like this
