Very good comments about Rovers. We don't often hear successive opposition managers heap praise on us like that.

Anyone fancy a fiver bet that he won't last the season?

Surprised he got the job in the first place to be perfectly honest.

Completely agree.

Darren, Rigo is referring to Scunthorpe's manager Nick Daws, not McCann.

DF already in the frame.

Among the early favourites to replace Daws is the former Doncaster Rovers gaffer Darren Ferguson who surprisingly left the Yorkshire club back in June after nearly three seasons at the helm.

Would quite like Ferguson to go there.  Watching their end of season implosion and poor derby performances would be amusing.

Talking of bad derby days and Scunny, they have a big montage of their recent 'glory days' on the outside of their stand, which you see as you arrive at the stadium.

- All the players like Keogh, Foster, Murphy, Marcus Williams, Billy Sharp, etc, feature heavily on it.

Does anyone remember that Scunny v Donny derby game though, just after SO'D had took over. 30th September 2006 (never forget a date) and it was a really damp squib of a performance that SO'D got a lot of flak for.

But they were quality at the time which I don't think got recognised for a while.

We had to wear their shorts if I recall.

Awful. Absolutely awful.

SOD took flak for saying that he didn't care about it being a derby and that it was just another game

Well if DF takes the Scunthorpe job the budget is not the reason for him leaving us. Our budget I am sure will be quite a bit larger than Scunthorpe’s.

Maybe this season, yes. But for the last few seasons they have splashed the cash. Letting 12 players or so, go in the summer months shows a tightening of the belt.

They’ve always had a decent budget over the last few years and even this season they’ve signed players like James perch who will be on big money.

I would think their budget this season will be 1 million below ours.
Don’t know of course so it is only a guess and I may be way out on my estimate but I will be very surprised if it is any where near ours.

I believe it was bigger than ours last year so not sure it will be a milllion less than ours now.
Ojo, Morris, perch, will all be on at least the same as our biggest earner
